We need to really play this game a minimum of every other year....it could so easily become a hell of a rivalry! :thumb:

I agree completely. As I posted in another thread, the only negative is dealing with a few of your obnoxious fans. Then again, the GRIZ have them too. :thumb:

You are correct sir....we both have them, but taken as a whole our two fan bases are most likely hands down the best in the FCS.

With my luck, I'd run into a few of the obnoxious idiots. Loved reading the posts of Bison fans chewing ass of 1 of those obnoxious Bison fans. :thumb:

Like I stated . I'm really interested to see how much Montana's offense tries to stretch out the NDSU defense side to side. I'm guessing NDSU will open up in the nickel package, that's about the only way Montana can win this game is throw 40+ times & hope to break a few deep ones. am I correct here griz fans?

I believe you're correct. The most likely approach for the Grizzlies is to use short, quick hitting, passes all over your secondary. Then as the Buff's DB's creep up to stop those short gains look for the long ones. This is probably a good guess on the game plan, and it may prove an effective one too since ND St will be breaking in new blood in those secondary positions (3 of the 4?).

Though at this point God only knows if Montana will get their offense on track in this game. The other side of the ball should be rather evenly matched (Griz defense vs Buff's offense). That is, if the Griz offense can maintain drives to keep a relatively even time of possession. Though if Montana's offense sputters, and ND State starts grinding out a huge TOP advantage, the game could be an ugly loss for our guys.
That said, our guys are gonna kick ass. Go Griz! :ugeek:

NDSU secondary goes Senior, Senior, Junior, Sophomore.... with a Sophomore at Nickel.

what NDSU will go is primarily stick with NiCKEL and then play their linebackers in wider positions, thus cutting off those quick hitters over the middle. There's plenty of faith in the interior NDSU D Line, so that's not a real concern im guessing.

I think most people will be surprised with how good the NDSU defense will be with the new blood, definitely faster!

No Montana is fine playing the NAIA version of the state of north Dakota's college football teams. (heck UMary would give you a better battle than them)

its ok, NDSU is doing just fine with where we are. You enjoy beating the fluffiest of the Fluffy!

(ps- I think this thread will be fun come Saturday afternoon.. right?? LOL )

Hey bn, Many rely on the game day thread for real-time game info and updates. Some are deployed and serving in harm's way. If they can get to the internet...they go to this thread. Please do not derail it on game day. Thanks.

Which Bisonation will show up on gameday?

As to today, have my ticket lined up, at cost. GRIZ Football season is officially here and I am pinging off the walls. :thumb:

Remember the Orange Bowl of 2012! WV vs Clemson. Everyone picked Clemson to route WV. WV scored 70 points against a damn good defense. And who did coach Dana Holgorson give a plug to on national TV? You got it...coach Stitt! The Griz D played amazing LY against the Bison for being on the field the entire game. I bet the Griz have some offensive plays they haven't revealed yet. This guy is a competitive man. Everything I read and hear say the Bison by 10 to 21 points. I'm putting my money on the Griz. I could be wrong but something tells me the Bison are in for a surprise. Here's to a great game Saturday and a new beginning for Griz football.

Tough to stay focused at work today....

I gave up and started pre gaming. I figured everything I had to get done today can wait until Monday. That usually works out perfectly, right?

Standby for the Sunday evening panic attack.

It's GAMEDAY!! We're getting an early start from Helena and heading over shortly. Can't freakin' wait! Go Griz!!

GRIZ WIN

Is anyone else having trouble getting ESPN (or any other stations) to come through on Dish Network? With all this smoke, we keep getting "Partial Signal Loss" or "Complete Signal Loss" screens coming up when I try to select a channel.

I know I can watch it on ESPN3 but I have to leave partway through the game and I won't be able to record it if the DVR isn't getting any signal.

ESPN had a nice preview on Sportscenter. ESPN is giving NDSU an 83% chance to beat Montana. They also said that NDSU would be favored over 65 FBS teams on a neutral field.

Here we go. 1 hour away.

Detroit Lakes Minnesota is having a watch party on the sandbar on the water. how cool is that, I hope to get pics to pass along.

Some showers in the area might thin the smoke out, wind is ok now but could get nasty the 2nd half.
