Maybe even a wildcat?

wonder if 8 can throw it?

To Jones or maybe Harper?
That'd be awesome!! I'd like to see them mix it up a bit. I'm loving what I've seen so far tho!!

Good grief. Jordan Johnson is a quarterback, not a metric wrench. He's a bright, teachable athlete who should be able to adapt to taking snaps under center, regardless of what he did in high school. Many of the Griz are doing things differently than they did in high school, that's just the nature of college sports vs. preps. It's not like he's being asked to throw southpaw.
For sure. I think he looked good all around. I'm not complaining one bit about what happened this weekend, not one bit. He looks like he was born to be a QB. Outstanding athlete!!

I'll tell you what, NLG. JJ had a couple stands in pocket where he waited until the last possible second to throw the ball that reminded me a lot of Drew Miller.

I'm aware of that. You are not talking to a 6 yr old here. But it is an adjustment that he has made flawlessly. It causes problems for some QB's. All I was saying is I am happy he adapted so quickly. I'm as big a JJ fan as you are.

Yes sir!! He looked better than he did in 2011. I took a second for me to get used to him right directly behind center.

No you're not. I'm going to get a tape measure....

FYI, I'm looking for crow recipes should in advance of your post season blast of my doubting the Griz defense.

Its good to discuss these things, but it appears that the coaches and JJ have this figured out. The game,in my view, was played to near perfection by the Griz.
Must've been the coaching eh? Since youve pointed out how little talent the Griz actually possess.

Early in the game we were backed up on our own 20-25 yard line. We had 3rd and 1 and were in the shotgun. Asked my buddy if Phen-Phen was back calling plays. It worked out, pass for 7-8 yards...

Also, I seen more I-formation last weekend than I have in 5 years. Love it.

One more thing, I know it's just 1 game, but our D looked like the D from the days of Hauck. Bend but don't break. Love it.

That defensive strategy was more aggressive than any Paulsen scheme. It was somewhere between Paulsen and Breske. Paulsen's schemes drove me crazy, as did last season's schemes. Ty learned a lot from last season. It could turn out to be the best thing that could have happened early in his DC career. :thumb:

Nice how JJ did stand in the pocket and still get the ball out after waiting for the receiver to clear the zone...very savvy and similar to Drew Miller as some of you noted. The big difference though is that JJ can scramble if the pocket breaks down early and he is flushed....Drew couldn't do that although he could spin it with the best of them!

JJ= Ochs. I would have loved to seen Ochs for 1 more year in the system. :thumb:

As I stated before, this offense better caters to the strengths of our OL than the style of spread we were running. The great thing is, is that JJ will only get more comfortable with the offense and he is already executing very well.
