#1 NDSU and the rest of the FCS

Counting only division one games ..

Ndsu's opponents so far this year are 32-33, the rest of their season the opponents combined record are 18-14 ..

Ndsu is 4-0 against ranked teams this year with a combined score 167-53..

Montanas' record against division one teams this year so far is 25-31 ..

Montanas' future opponents have a combined record of 13-19..

Montana has played only one ranked division one team on the latest stats poll and that's u.n.d. so that makes them 1-0

I would say ndsu record stand up very favorably with montanas'
Trying to follow your logic on this is insane. Were you drunk at the time you schemed this up? Either way, you are skewing numbers that are mostly meaningless. There is one common opponent thus far. NDSU beat Indiana State 38-7, Montana won 63-20 and then you want to add a once rank team that NDSU played that is no longer ranked and ignore one for Montana in the same category.

If we're to use your formulas, Central Washington comes out on paper well ahead of both Citadel and Tennessee State.

At the end of the day, none of the numbers you present mean a thing.

On paper, NDSU is the better team, but if the two meet up, the paper doesn't matter.

When they played both teams were ranked, but no currently they are not.. they are still getting votes.
And Idaho was ranked when UM played them, but you ignored them. And Central WA is and was ranked. So, we have played 3 ranked teams. CW is better than some of the teams in the BS and MV conferences. Ranked no. 7. Only loss is to Griz.

There are only maybe 5 teams in the entire FCS that are above average, the rest would have trouble beating lower division teams. The FCS is so weak its stupid

The fact is that NDSU is not going to win any more championships by not embracing the portal like Montana and UND have. Maybe if all the real teams leave the FCS and all that was left over were the Ivy, Montana State and NDSU then NDSU might be able to win another championship if Brent Vigen is still in Bozeman but once he leaves NDSU will lose to the bubs too.

You need to do your homework better: Montana beat # 8 Idaho on Sept. 27 43-31, as Hoops alluded to in an earlier post on this thread !!! I can personally verify this since we were in The NEZ watching this game, which wasn't as close as the final score indicated since Idaho scored late junk points when everyone in WA-GRIZ knew they were going to lose, including Idaho. !!!

Idaho beat ranked NAU tonight in OT.

Someone should tell hoops PSU would win the Ivy
Maybe PSU could beat Columbia, who are the bottom of the Ivies so far this season. The top of the BS is definitely better than the top of the Ivies, but after that Sagarin indicates that the conference teams are fairly even. Montana is only rated a few slots above Harvard. See Sagarin coming into today's games.

That’s interesting and shows how bad Portland State is doing with a scholarship based team they are worse than many teams offering no athletic scholarships

It takes very little to be better than most teams in the Big Sky, its a horrible conference.

10 teams don't even deserve to be in it
The same thing can be said for Class AA football in High School.

Anything below AAAA should be banned and the programs abandon. Absolutely no good football comes from the little leagues.

As I have said, the Ivies offer more in scholarships than any FCS conference. You think non-scholarship is a big deal. It isn’t in certain conferences. $346,000 for 4 years is a pretty good scholarship, particularly with the high earnings potential after graduation.

“Harvard outlined the income requirements for prospective students for the next academic year: If a student's family makes less than $100,000 annually, the cost of attendance is free, including tuition, food, housing, health insurance and travel costs. If a family makes $200,000 or less, tuition is free.“

“The four-year cost for Harvard is approximately $300,000 to over $346,000 based on the 2024-2025 and 2023-2024 academic years, though the final amount varies greatly depending on a student's financial need, as Harvard's aid is need-based. The university's financial aid policies aim to cover 100% of demonstrated need, meaning the actual cost for many students is significantly lower and can be near zero. For students from families with incomes of $100,000 or less, Harvard is free starting with the 2025-26 academic year. ”

If you go visit Harvard the tours are led by students. I highly recommend it. We had a great tour guide a few years ago that was an offensive lineman from North Carolina. He said that being an athlete without a doubt helped him get in. Harvard has had a lot of NFL players and I just googled and they have 5 on current rosters. They are not going to be an easy out in the playoffs. Much like the service academies when you get a team full of smart and disciplined athletes that can be tough. Just like NCAA hoops. Interesting fact is that Harvard has more D 1 athletic programs than any other school in the nation.
