Don't know if you live in Western Montana, but
Western Montana, from Darby to West Glacier, got sh*t on by out-of-staters starting in the late '80s, and full on by '93, when I left.
One Missoula professional said he had been working on a landowner down the Bitterroot to get some land for his own ranchette. Then the landowner told him he sold the land to some carpetbagger from California who sold his grossly inflated little house for a small fortune, and 'became a Montanan.'
