“Battle of the Brawl, or whatever you call it”

It was so bad Desmond Howard ranked it in his top 5 all time. Crazy stuff you tell yourselves on that side of the divide! Real shame you got stood up again this year. Might be the B.O. smell running through the city of Missoula. We will never know! Oh well, glad they established they’d rather be in Bozeman than Missoula.

The river hasn't stank in 30 years, dingus. The paper mill is long gone too. Stay ignorant, my guy

Don’t blame us CGD picked a favorite. Be better and maybe they’ll show.

I never watch Game Day, so I really don't care where they go. And I had totally forgotten they went to Bozoland last year, as I imagine many others have too.

Exactly. For bubs, it’s all about being seen. Most are transplants and not true Montanas, and they embrace the Yellowstone movie culture and the damage it’s doing to our great state. I don’t want Missoula getting trampled by trash, and if it did, I certainly would not go around bragging about it

What I loved most was their pick of a true Montanan to be their guest picker. He REALLY represents what Bozo is about.

I for one am glad that our starting QB looks at it as just another game
This! As soon as he said it I was impressed. All this means is that the team’s focus is where it should be, the current game. He barely got past PSU and was being asked about a Montana tradition that he has very little frame of reference for. He will get his taste this week. I am stoked to see if he has the mocy that he is starting to show. Go Griz!

They picked Bozeman because it represents Disney and ESPN very well, neither of which represent Montana for me. If it does you, cool.

Bozeman is the town that least represents Montana in so many ways. In fact, very few that live there that I have interacted with over the last five years have not spent time anywhere outside of a 50 mile radius from Bozeman. This simply means they do very little for Montana as a whole and are just a part of the Bozeman elite sub-culture. Many of my Bobcat friends that don’t live there don’t like this fact.

Again, I repeat, not our fault Missoula got ghosted twice by CGD. Clearly they don’t want to go there.

"The Divide War": Montana's Golden Treasure.

A book by Butte's Pat Kearney has a story on every game from 1897 thru 2003. Lots of cool stories.

I kind of like Kearney's name.....and the pretty ugly Trophy Rock they've made as permanent trophy is on the Divide.

GO GRIZ!!

If anyone doesn't have this book, go get a copy! I found it at the Antique Mall a while back, and it is the perfect bathroom book or coffee table book. Quick reads on each game, with absolutely great insight.

Tell me you are butt hurt CGD chose MSU over UM without telling me.

A thread^

“It’s dumb, I never watched”
“This was the worst one ever”
“We actually don’t care guys, believe me”
“We did all the work”
“We didn’t even want CGD”

I love how all the Puddy Tat folks are pointing out that McDowell doesn't consider this the "most important game" in his football career, and guess what? It's not.

Y'all are fixated on beating the Griz. I think it's hilarious the Griz live in your heads rent free all year. Don't care about the Puddy Tats and never have if we beat them cool, if not then it's on to the playoffs and hopefully a run to the NC where we don't manage to humiliate the state by forgetting to show up and play football.

Agricultural College of the State of Montana (aka MSEwe) seeking validation as part of Montana since 1893. Funny Story about that, MSU is UM's hand-me-down name.

Sorry, and excuse my pronunciation: Do you all really care where the pre-game is held? Weather, injuries, line up, and lets go!

I have never watched College Gameday, so the hype is all but overblown from my perspective.

You're missing out if you like CFB. It's usually a really great show with insight into local stuff and unique stories in college towns, etc. That, and analysis of the big FBS matchups. I rarely have time to watch all the games I want to watch, so it's a pretty cool show to keep up on what's happening.

Now, the Bozeman episode was by far the worst one in recent memory in terms of the local/unique stuff. It started off well but devolved into a Wild Frontier-ride-your-horse-to-work thing. It probably played to the East Coast crowd who want to play cowboy because they watched two seasons of that Yellowstone show, but it was not an accurate representation of Bozeman or Montana in my opinion. I'll say this: It's not because I don't like the Bobcats. I really enjoyed both of the Fargo episodes, and I don't like the Bizon.

I am usually busy early and seldom see any games before noon.

Got it. I'm the opposite. I can really only watch CFB coverage early (CGD starts at 6am where I am) before I run around with kids' sports. If you've truly never ever watched it, it might be worth a shot to DVR it once and watch it later to see if it's something you enjoy.

I quite honestly am rarely interested in what is happening in FBS. There are a couple teams I follow, but that's it. Even when it' s an FCS game on one of the ESPN channels, the announcers can't wait to talk about FBS teams rather than the game in front if them. I find it very frustrating and thus CHOOSE not to watch Game Day and similar shows.

I understand. I know people who feel the same as you. I really like college football and I understand where the FCS ranks in terms of priorities for networks. I suppose if we are in the second-best division, we shouldn't be surprised or angry when we are treated as such. Just my opinion.
