Sucks CGD couldn’t care less about coming to Missoula. Maybe they’ll see the brawl again next year. Choosing JMU over UM is really insulting Imo. I couldn’t imagine if they had chosen UCLA-USC over Bozeman/ MSU last year. Bozeman was too good to give up. Hopefully Missoula can grow a little more to entice CGD!

I still have a "Montana Power Classic" glass mug from the very splashy 1998 VIP tailgate that Montana Power hosted in Missoula. Don't ask how I got invited, I'm no VIP. This was all going on while MPC was plotting to sells us all out.
I also have a couple brass commemorative coins from the Montana Power Years, They handed them out to fans after the game in Bozeman. I susepect they waited until after the game because they didn't want the silver dollar sized coins being thrown at the field.
I also have a plastic travel mug celebrating the 100th year. The cup was sponsored by Noon's, Bitterroot Motors and some other businesses. It has big Griz on it and tiny little bobcat down in the corner. No corporate trademarked nickname.
The Montana players always say Griz-cat, if you listen to Marty, he still says Griz-cat. Bozeman says cat-Griz. Fine by me.
I'm not calling it the Town Pump Bowl. That's for schmucks.

They were at JMU in 2015 & 2017, raving about it both times. They were in GA and it’s an easy drive north. Critical element is where they’re sending herbie to call the game. An easy private jet ride to anywhere east of the Mississippi as was the case twice before. .
Nobody not named Faldo shows up in the gallatin last season were it not for the social media avalanche the year prior. Fact. That they decided on the Columbus site that season was because they’d picked OSU-MSU as their feature game that weekend, a noon kick . Had they gone to Utah for the night game, which turned out to be a more compelling game than the blowout they had to dance with, they’d have been in Missoula.
But sure, it was the allure of BozAngeles that sealed the deal all by itself.

Kind of cool he muffed the name. If that aloof, above-the-noise persona cancels out all of the distraction this week, so much the better.

It's too bad that Wa-dud and the Heehaw allstars disgraced the state on College Game Day in 2022. You couldn't have done a worse job. It really came off like a handful of out of staters were tasked with presenting the essence of Montana and couldn't pull it off. Truly a frozen wet fart of a show.

Might be the B.O. smell running through the city of Missoula. We will never know! Oh well, glad they established they’d rather be in Bozeman than Missoula.

It really was a bad show. I watch CGD any time I can. It’s my favorite TV show. They had wagon wheels and cow skulls on set, and really portrayed Montana as a bunch of back-country hillbillies. Not to mention the fucking rodeo clown. An actual rodeo clown! On top of that, Desmond basically said he couldn’t wait to get to the airport. Awful portrayal of the state.

I used to love Gameday so much but last year's show was easily one of the worst episodes they've ever done. Not that the cold should matter that much, but being one of the coldest weekends ever for Bozeman that time of year, there was absolutely no crowd enthusiasm, and the guest picker was a slap in the face of all the great Montanans who've come out of this great state. I don't even mind the wagon wheels and cow skulls because that is still very much a distinctive part of the state's identity but that whole show was just a big marker of how much the rest of the country really misunderstands this state.

Literally NONE of the players call it by that dumb, trash name anyways. They all call it Cat Griz in Bozeman or Griz Cat in Missoula. Why would he know that dumb ass name? I’d say the majority of fans don’t call it by that name.
