MSU Move to FBS

Exactly……which is why in 2009 if they weren’t connected, UM would have moved up, but couldn’t largely in part to msu not even being close to being able to make the jump. Hell, msu was much much closer to being d2 than they were ready to go FBS. Love how so many cat fans forget how dire straights their entire athletic program was and very recent at that. Even in UM’s down years it is WELL above where msu was at for a majority of the 90s and 2000’s.

I don't think I would call him a bust. I mean he's been in the league for 11 years amassing $135M+. Injury's definitely playing a big part in his production, but he always seems to land on a team each and every year. So, personally i wouldn't classify that as a complete bust.

I see where you are coming from, but he was the second overall pick. If you are the second overall pick and you have his career, you are a bust regardless of how much money you were paid.

He was also a locker room killer and refused to throw the ball to open receivers to give his buddy Ertz more touches. He also was a HUGE prick to certain players, including Alshon Jeffrey (if my memory is right) and Jalen Hurts. There were long form articles written at the time about what a jerk he was to both teammates and coaches.

The dude couldn't even keep the easiest job in the nfl beyond one season: holding Patrick Mahome's clipboard. If the second overall pick wasn't capable of that job where he'd never even see the field, I think we can safely call him a bust.

He is no Jamarcus Russell, but based on his draft position, you would have to classify him as a bust. But saying that, the QB position is always over-drafted. But good news, he isn't the biggest bust for a NDSU drafted QB.

At least he got drafted .

Name the last Montana QB to get drafted? NDSU has had 5 starters in their program graduate and get drafted. 3 of the of those players have started multiple NFL games

Also , how does this have anything to do with MSU positioning to be an FBS program?

At least NDSU has QB’s get drafted.
I can’t personally remember one Montana QB who has been drafted nor anyone who has taken a snap in the NFL.

Also, Trey Lance has nothing to do with MSU positioning to be an FBS program .

2. The front office personnel who thought like 28 completions at the FCS level was sufficient to use the pick on him; or
3. The ownership who presumably OK'd it?

Nope, ndsu earned theirs on the gridiron through a grueling playoff system. Bama received most of theirs through a popularity contest. Did you know Bama claims a natty where they finished 3rd in the con and 20th in the AP?

From what I have been told, on good authority, including from people at the UM athletic department then, UM was never in a good position to move up them and/or didn't want to. And, of course, you are right. MSU wasn't in position to move up. UM wasn't quite in a good position either.

That's not how this works. This thread is now about two things: NDSU QB busts, and chicken wings.

There has been much debate about what establishment makes the best chicken wings in Missoula County and the surrounding area. We all know that this area is the Wing Capital of Montana, so which place stands above the rest? That's what I want to know. If you think some other area of the State can match quality (I seriously doubt it), state your claim.
