Taco Dowler mocking BK

Admittedly, I'm not overly well-versed in the criminal codes in Montana. Charges and penalties obviously vary by jurisdiction, but in many states, destroying evidence to interfere with an investigation can be charged as a felony, and includes significant penalties including prison time and large fines.

But in either case, are you actually trying to justify any of this???
Except that here in the US that all has to be proven, not just said by the peanut gallery
Do there is that.

Doesn’t make me mad, just show his true character and the type of behavior Vigen allows….as if the DUI’s weren’t proof enough.
Didn't you guys re-hire a coach who got chased out of town for overseeing the biggest scandal in university history, over the vocal protests of a significant portion of your staff and alumni?

Apologies. Wikipedia, the Kaiman archives and my memory must be wrong.

Uh, fuck it. I can't let this go. Can you define this "scandal" for us please?

I’m genuinely not trolling. I’m only ever on here to share mockups I’ve made for the Griz fan community. But seeing 11 pages of comments going after a kid for a harmless tweet, and devolving into attacking MSU coaches, I’m happy to call out hypocrisy.

I don’t need to personally define the scandal. Here’s a paragraph from the Kaiman dated Dec. 11, 2017, after Hauck’s rehiring:

“But it was both his and his players’ conduct that arguably made Hauck most notable. Several of his players were arrested for assault throughout his six-year run. He was also responsible for recruiting Beau Donaldson, the running back who pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting a woman in 2013, during the height of UM’s rape scandal.”

Here is the entry on Hauck’s Wikipedia page:

“In 2017, a coalition of students, community leaders, and advocates in Missoula, Montana campaigned against the rehiring of Hauck. Spearheaded by then graduate student, Lisa Davey, citing concerns over past player misconduct and the University of Montana's response to multiple allegations of sexual assault incidents involving the players during Hauck's previous tenure. The non-fiction book Missoula: Rape and the Justice System in a College Town by Jon Krakauer was centered around these incidents.”

Well Gus, the book was written primarily about the Jordan Johnson trial, as the author had a vested interest in the outcome. That being said, Johnson was acquitted of the charges he faced and Hauck was not the head coach at the time the allegations were made. The other player in the book plead guilty to a rape that occurred in September 2010 at which time Hauck was coaching at UNLV.
The DUI’s at your alma mater occurred under the watchful eye of the current head coach who brought 2 time DUI offender Garza on staff. Housewright held a power dynamic over then offensive analyst Sam “the fixer” Mix, and used it to impede an investigation. An act for which “the fixer” was ultimately rewarded for, as he’s currently working under Housewright at Jacksonville State as the TE coach. Quid pro quo…….
The biggest difference is that Hauck had to face a town hall meeting and a relentless press, Vigen was treated with kid gloves so the press wouldn’t lose access to the program or have the image of the university under Waded’s leadership tarnished.

At no point did I defend the former coaches who were arrested at Montana State, or even the university. What I did was call out the hypocrisy of many on this thread, who somehow forget the entire saga your university is just now, thankfully, on the other side of. I'm not particularly active on bobcat nation, so anyone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't believe they spend a chunk of basically every thread calling you University of Rape, but MSDUI seems pretty trendy over here.

Well, fnz fully eviscerated dok, so there isn't much to add.

However, I think it's worth pointing out that both Bozeman and msu had higher rates of sexual assaults than Missoula/UM during that period, and that Hackauer specifically points out in his book that UM and Missoula were below the national average for sexual assaults, but as fnz points out, he knew the "victim"(unfortunately, he was too closely associated with her to be objective, and it made for an awful book which was critically panned for that reason). Then Jordy was exonerated in less than 60 minutes.

Sooooo, what exactly was the scandal again?

I'm going to stick with the acclaimed writer whose work was backed by a massive publisher under what I can only assume was rigorous internal legal oversight and fact-checking over some Griz fan's opinion on how valid a scandal it was.

But I meant it when I said I wasn't here to troll. It isn't how I like to interact as a fan or in general. I think I typically have a pretty good relationship with most Griz fans. I don't want that to devolve any further. So I'm signing off from egriz. Hope you all genuinely have a good night.

This was from one of the bobcat forum regulars posting on Twitter a graphic put out on a IG story by current fucking NFL player Daniel Hardy.

Okay then.

You really should read the reviews of that book. And you have a good night as well.

Ol’ John has a way with crafting his own narrative

What's remarkable to me is that Into Thin Air remains one of my favorite books. I've read it 3 times. But it's factually flawed. I used to be relatively well acquainted with the climbing community here in Seattle, and if anyone is at all familiar with that tragedy, they'll know that's significant. Those people openly mock Krakauer for all he got wrong. He's a terrific writer, but he never lets a falsehood stand in the way of his writing

I bet this whole comparison was money in your head. Then, you typed it out, realized it was apples and radiator fluid, but said, “ah, fuck it.” *Post*

No different in Into The Wild:

Despite its critical acclaim, the book's accuracy has been disputed by some of those involved in McCandless' story, and by some commentators such as Alaskan reporter Craig Medred. Medred covers a large number of items in the book that are questionable, most of which stem from the extremely limited detail in McCandless' journal. He concludes that Krakauer had to infer or invent much of McCandless' experiences. Krakauer was criticized for presenting his speculation as fact. Additionally, weather records refute some of the dramatic weather events presented in the story.

It's safe to say Hackauer stretches the truth (outright makes shit up??) to fit whatever narrative he's trying to make.

recently the bob state's jack horner was linked to none other than epstien. i know, innocent until proven guilty, but their email exchanges were kinda weird, mentioning 'the girls' a few times after horner's visit to epstien's new mexico property.

of course he says he's innocent. oddly enough, though, he apparently admitted knowing to his florida issues, when he was found guilty.
