QB Club - it's confidential, however....

Last night was something very new for QB Club, we had a spring meeting that wasn't centered around signing day. Dan Ingram opened and then Kent Haslam & Marcus Welnel talked and answered questions on NIL / rev share, etc. Then Coach BK took the mic and talked for about 45 minutes.

I've been a QB Club member consistently since 2012 and had been a guest many times before as well, this was big change in what I'd previously seen. BK shared a lot of his vision and his passion for this team, he answered questions, and as I'm told he stayed after for a long time and talked with everyone who wanted to say hi - even exchanging his number with those who asked. BK's commitment to the players, to his staff, to the program, and to us the fans burst through and his presence really reminded me of Joe Glenn. He commanded the mic and really held the room. He acknowledged his assistants, who were there in person, and even gave props and gave thanks to his GAs and even the video producers.

It's a new era and the energy from the meeting last night was really felt. Today I've had a handful of people reach out saying they heard how great and fun the meeting was - and they want to join ASAP. BK is planning more spring events as well for QB Club members.

Additionally - if you are currently an NIL / Rev share donor - with the house opt-in that now counts toward you membership. You need to designate something to QB Club, it can't be all NIL/rev share - but maybe consider rounding up to get your total annual donation to $1000 and you can be a part of these great events. It also doesn't have a to be a 1-time fee, you can pay monthly or quarterly. Rounding up, $85/mo gets you into the QB Club - and guys, you're gonna love it.

I want to personally invite you to become a member of the Quarterback Club. The support you provide as a member will help us continue to be successful in the classroom and on the field.

As a member of the QB Club, you will have an exclusive behind-the-scenes look into Grizzly Football. You will hear from myself and our coaches each week as we break down the upcoming opponent and provide insight into our football program.

You are no longer just a fan… You are an important part of our TEAM.

Support for our program from Griz Nation has never disappointed. We have seen the QB Club grow every year since I’ve returned. This year is no different as the expectations are high for our football program as well as support for the QB Club. Now, more than ever, your support is needed as we set our sights on some important initiatives to continue to build this great program.

As we enter a new era of college athletic with the settlement of NCAA vs. House, institutions can provide direct financial benefits to student-athletes as part of NIL – Licensing (Revenue Sharing). What does this mean for you? You can contribute directly to NIL – Licensing (Revenue Sharing) through the UM Foundation. Gifts above $1,000 in support of this will be recognized as QB Club members.

On behalf of our players and staff, THANK YOU for your continued support! I can’t wait to see you at our next event!

Go Griz! Fight On!

Good report - Thank you.

Based on last year, the positivity in BK should help UM retain good players, especially on the Offense. It will be interesting to see the new defense and special teams. I believe it was Colter that has provided facts/analysis about how many special teams big play / special teams scores occurred in recent years.

There are definitely some coaches who view groups like QBClub as a necessary evil. But then there are other coaches who embrace these entities and understand that embracing QBClub is essential to running a healthy program.
And to be fair - Bobby Hauck loved going to QB Club too, that was his time to let loose on the week. He was, as he is in everything, VERY structured in it's format. Kennedy brings a very different level of energy which has been really fun so far.

Probably one of Bob Stitt's tougher adaptations when he came here was the boosters / QB Club. Just wasn't his thing.

Thank you for reporting on this Brint. I had actually found out today through some email exchanges with Marcus exactly what you are stating….that I could bump up my monthly donation a little bit and it would count to that $1000 QB club membership. I have always donated to the program, and just in the last couple of years started doing a monthly amount. It wasn’t much of a bump to get me to that $85 a month and qualify me so I did that today!

I would encourage anyone who is already doing a monthly donation to consider bumping it up a little bit so that you can get the benefits of the QB club

Bobby loved QB Club, was very good with it, and stayed around to talk with all comers afterwards. He was always in a good mood. I wasn't at the recent meeting.

Except Stitt had all the coaches come to QB Club, and 2 players most week. Hauck didn't do that.

QB Club has had quite the evolution over the years, I'm sure some others on here can speak to it way further back:

Hauck 1.0 - was the upstairs of the Press Box, would bring a position coach from each side of the ball + 1 player, quick Q&A with both, super fast film review. Thursday morning breakfast

Pflugrad - Carried forward what Hauck did.

Delaney - Same, this was when I went from being a part time attendee to a regular, QB club started to grow so you had to get there early or they'd put you in the overflow on the lower level. Was still an honor system breakfast

Stitt - Moved it to the bar of the Still room, used the TVs in there for film review. After the first year he started having Semore and Selle present. Still had players come. Had all of his assistants come and they'd just sit in the back of the room.

Hauck 2.0 - Moved to evenings on Mondays and in the conference center at the Still room. Stopped bringing assistants for the most part and didn't bring players. Then 2 years ago bc QB Club was really growing fast we moved to the Hilton where you've got the best AV setup and a bar in the room so you can grab a quick drink + double screens and far better audio.

I got to watch the replay of the meeting with Coach BK. You can tell this is a coach who DEEPLY cares about his staff, and his players, and the fans and supporters. He has a lot of energy and juice, and I thought really did a good job commanding the room. He brings some humor to the table too. I think Griz Nation is really going to like this coach, and I hope the wins fall into place for him.

Loved the "you guys have to give me a break on using big words, I have a degree from Northern Colorado, ok?"
