SHOCKED/PISSED/EXCITED:

In total shock of Bobby's announcement! At first, it pissed me off that he would do this now, however, after hearing his press conference and his reason for retirement, I fully understand it! Working in a job that you no longer enjoy is not pleasant experience! When my job was not enjoyable, I retired too.
Excited about Coach Kennedy, many of my coach friends have all praised him as "an Awesome Coach!" Now he is our Head coach and Griz nation we need to get behind him and support this team. Bobby brought him here for this reason.

Thank you to Bobby Hauck for all your years of leadership, dedication, sacrifices and most of all your friendship to Griz nation, you are a Legend!
Very good post. I retired for the same reason-not sufficient energy to do the right job anymore.

So wait, if i dont like my job anymore i can just retire? Well damn, time to get some fishing gear😁.
I am in the process of renovating my house in Alberton. In four years I am retiring, leaving Ohio and going back to Montana. I didn't think I would ever go back, but... family. They are a blessing and a curse. My goal is to teach grandkids life stuff. I plan on doing a lot of camping, backpacking, fishing, and putzing around my yard.

Beautiful stretch of river out by Alberton. Love it.

We have 20 acres on Southside Rd. We get Bighorns, turkeys, bear and elk in the yard all year long. I planted an orchard twenty years ago with apple and plum trees, and a lot of blueberry, blackberry and elderberry bushes, and have a 15,000 gallon pond. Lol yeah and I go elsewhere when I am there to camp... that's incredibly Montanan.

I don't think anyone can fault Bobby for retiring. There is no way I would be a coach nowadays. It's not just the college level either. I don't think it's hit Montana yet, but in Ohio they are already dealing with high school athletes transferring and doing the NIL thing. Retirement looks really good. You just get to check out of the rat race.

I am including a link regarding the high school NIL crap in Ohio. I hope Montana NEVER allows this to happen.

Weren't any of the 3 stooges (Pflugrad, Delaney, Stitt) available?
Stitt is winning at CO Mines which is a top tier D2 football program at the top university in Colorado in a top tier city. Delaney and Pflu are enjoying retirement. Aaron Pflugrad is a name to watch in the future as he rises in the coaching ranks but he needs to get more experience first.

I'm sure the green hat looks good in Golden.
Stitt is a good coach, just not a good coach for a team that expects to win it all at the fcs level.

Oh... I'll still be working in one capacity or another. I would go bat crap crazy if I wasn't working and my wife would probably disappear me. I am going to start my a little cottage business that I can run during the weekends at the Farmer's Market in Missoula. It's better to go fishing, camping, hunting and backpacking during the week while everyone is at their job.
