Press Conf Summary

BH will take a special teams coaching position somewhere and have little stress dealing with NIL and agents and make bank. the man can coach and after a bit of down time will be back coaching.
Why would he do that? He can be a fan of the Griz and enjoy retirement. You might even see him here on egriz someday.

Being a FCS football head coach is like being a CEO of a regional company. Some people have the delegating and public facing skills, some don't. We will find out whether Bobby Kennedy has them.

Montana gets a lot more local press and publicity than a lot of FCS programs say Northern Colorado. The Griz are the team in Missoula.

Bobby, "going from a coach trying to get ready, trying to figure it out to a concerned alum who has all the answers. It just happened here, right? So I know everything now."
Good one Bobby!

Just because he worked to adapt to the new system doesn't mean he liked the new system.
My thought exactly ... except say "had to like it." Personal experience: Comes a time when you say, "Don't have to put up with this crap."👍

Don't get me wrong: It's nice that these kids/young men can make good money for themselves and their families ... but the "system" has many flaws that must be addressed.

Haslam now:

- important to keep the staff and team together
- felt that Coach K was the best person to do that and keep that continuity
- learned about this directly from Bobby at 8 pm last night and he explained that same things with me that he shared her
- Jimmy M will have some additional duties to pick up
- Coach K will not have an interim attached and we will evaluate at end of season like we always do
Someone should have asked Haslam why the double standard for women’s soccer. It hasn’t been important to keep the team together. Going on day 54 with no coach, rather than give coach J the job this year to continue to recruit they have bumbled the search. 3 candidates on campus since January 5 and all candidates turned down the job

Maybe they don't see J as the answer.

Does anyone else find it ironic that Bobby Hauck is blaming the current state of college football for his retirement but he chose to work the portal harder than most? He could have focused more on high school recruiting and player development and limited the portal additions but he chose to build a lot of the roster through the portal. That was an active choice and not something that was forced.
No, I don't find any of that ironic. Working the portal is the primary way to build a team now. Virtually every school is doing that. Indiana just did t the couple years. Soon to be dinosaurs if they don't change. it the couple years. Each year things move more in that direction. The Cats' luck is going to run out soon. They can't sustain where they are without working the portal much harder. You are way behind on what is going on in college football.

Was there an obvious candidate left on the staff to take the soccer job, like there was on the football team?

Unfortunately there were no options now that its February and the music already stopped. Coach Kennedy's resume is very flat as nothing more than a career WR position coach. That's all I see on his profile. No OC/DC or even HC experience at another school.
He has coached way more than receivers. You need to look harder. And he already knows the team and is liked by the players.

The President moves on. He will be missed!
The Head Coach moves on. He brought us back to relevancy and did well. Bobby bridged a gap for the next coach.

Haslam….is still here. Unfortunately. Replacing Haslam would actually be a big upgrade for the university athletic department.
