Ramos into the portal

My criteria for comparison is which portal addition was more impactful for their team. Justin Lamson was more impactful for the Cats this past year than any Hauck portal addition all time, regardless of position. If you are talking about transfers prior to the portal that is a different story. Hauck 1.0 had a lot of impactful non portal transfers such as Craig Ochs and Levi Horn. I could see an argument that those guys were more impactful than Lamson though it is difficult to compare with the eras being different.

Levi Horn is a good example of a non quarterback that can be more impactful than a lot of quarterbacks. He was an FCS All American left tackle. Although left tackles do not touch the ball, they are involved in every offensive play and are arguably the most important position on passing plays because they protect right handed quarterback’s blind side.

If you read my posts, you would see I have been saying Ah Yat is the best quarterback in the FCS and the only one to throw for over 4,000 yards. The topic of discussion was Hoops saying Hauck has dominated Vigen in the portal and I pointed out Vigen has had the most impactful portal addition of the 2.

Joe Thomas made the hall of fame at left tackle and basically every qb and running back he played with was garbage by NFL standards. How was he able to do that if he was reliant on other positions to be impactful?

Has any Hauck portal addition been as impactful as Lamson was at MSU this season? MSU goes for quality over quantity with their portal targets.

For Griz: 2 starters and 3 good backups on DL. 3 or 4 linebackers. Starters-players in secondary at safety and corner. Multiple starting OL. 2 starting receivers including Wortham. Backup receiver. Backup QB. Top 3 TE’s. About 6 first team all conference. Like I said, dominated.

In 2026, looks like top 5 DL. Probably 3 or 4 others on D.

Yes, you got a nice 2d teamall conference guy. Griz had about 10 or so starters and probably over 20 on two-deep.

Justin Lamson touched the ball every offensive play and Michael Wortham touched the ball less than 1/3 offensive plays. You make your own determination on which one was more impactful.

Griz had about 6 first team all conference, about 10 starters and probably over 20 on two deep. They were way more impactful to team than the Cat QB who would have been a benchwarmer. What is wrong with you? Wortham was an all-American. The Cat QB wasn’t even first team all conference.

Much comes from posters attacking me. Calling me names. Using my name. Mentioning my wife’s name. Saying I am old or have dementia. Saying I am fat. Why don’t the mods stop that? Why don’t you call out that stuff? I don’t do any of those things. I sometimes defend myself, but not with those things. I mostly provide good info, my analysis, bring interesting things to the board’s attention and point out incorrect things related to football or the Griz.
