Here's another take on this: If we disclose how much money we give athletes, then do we also need to disclose personal details about what their grades are? It is just OK that we don't need to know everything about our players, right? Picture a scenario: "Did you see so and so whiff on that crucial tackle? You would think that with what we pay him, he would be performing better than that? I mean, where is all our money going?" Think about it.

I think it's best for fans in general to not know who gets what when it comes to money. There's really no upside to it.

I’m no expert but if it’s allowed I would want to keep NIL and how much $$$ is in the coffer a total secret. This morning I saw NDSU kicker, best in FCS statistically, is in the portal. I’d love to know what a kicker is getting these days.

50-75k from a top tier P5 for a kicker. Likely 25k from a competitive G5 with NIL monies.
