Hauck will coach at UM as long as he wants to, could it be 10 years?

The 2023 NDSU team went further in the playoffs but their 2025 team was better by virtually every other measure. I agree with Cat/Griz fan in that 2023 was the worst team I have seen from NDSU since 2009.
Here's my take: Cam Miller (2023) > Cole Payton (2025), 2023 OL with Grey Zabel and all Srs > 2025 OL with So and Fr, 2025 Defense > 2023 Defense, Barika Kpeenu (2025) > TK Marshall (2023), Eli Green (2023) > Bryce Lance (2025).

If my memory serves me right, the 2023 Bison had a lot of injuries during the season and then got everyone or most everyone back right before the playoffs.

Agreed. Homework assignment to the naysayers, etc: Watch some of the Doctor Pepper commercials that feature irrational fans ... you could have a career/side job there.

Thinking about a supportive post along these lines, but it needs some research (numbers) and I have not found the time yet.
You guys are hilarious. You think we are close to winning a title when we are losing everywhere against our rival. You people are so unbelievably clueless where this program is compared to MSU. We aren’t developing on either side of the line. There is a reason this offense operates best with a mobile QB.

I wish some people would watch the the line play instead of the ball. Our defensive scheme is so flawed that virtually no other team in the country runs it. However, some on here think we have the greatest football minds in the country in Missoula trying to reinvent the wheel.

Lack of size in the trenches hasn’t worked against the top Dakota/MV schools in the last 3 seasons. This season against not the best MVFC competition we were able to overcome the size disadvantage but haven’t been able to overcome it against championship quality teams MVFC or otherwise.
Lack of size is a problem most teams have. Big defensive lineman and Oline man are positions heavily recruited by every team in the sport. When you land a few, or just one or two, you have been very thankful! Big young men who can move and play well are just hard to come by! If we had four or five large D-Linemen, would it solve the 3-3-5 problem? Where can we find them?
You know Travis DeCuire has the same issue with tall, big men. Every time one is about to commit to the Griz, some big school offers more money and away they go. Bobby has the same issue recruiting. Bobby will be here until he wins that NC or dies, which ever happens first!

Travis is light-years ahead of Bobby.

Bobby Knight thought he'd coach at Indiana as long as he wanted, also.
Yes but even Knight wasn’t to Indiana fans what Hauck is to UM fans. What hoops says isn’t anything new. I have been saying the same about Hauck and his followers forever. He is godlike in that town. As hoops said, guys with a lot of money won’t let him go anywhere.

And as I have said before I think this is the exact right thing to do.

You're kidding, right?

Which part? I have said since the 2nd hiring that Hauck is viewed almost biblically in Missoula. He’s not going anywhere in that town unless he decides he wants to.
Knight was a legend and most significant to his former players. Bobby is not with his former players.

Wrong. UM has beaten SDSU and NDSU in past 25 months and other good MV teams as well. It has worked out fine.
We're 3-3 against NDSU, UND and SDSU (losing record against the Bunnies) and have a winning record against USD, same as the Cats in that time frame and they'd definitely also beat Indiana State. Bragging about being .500 against the upper echelons of the MVFC in the last 3 Seasons is the ultimate deflection from Bobby and his inability to beat MSU.

Coach Hauck will be here as long as he wants. Be it 5 more years or 10 more years. It will be on his terms. We will always have a winning program as long as he is at the helm.

If course you all want to never be relevant again as long as Hauck is here.

He will never win a NC and he's proven it. If 30 more FCS teams moved up, DII Wisconsin White Water would move up from DIII and win 5 straight.

Enjoy losers

Wisconsin-Whitewater isn’t even the most relevant DIII program in its own state anymore, so I’m not sure I follow the analogy/reference here.

Hm. Then why can SDSU, NDSU, and the neighbors do it and we can’t? Is it scheme? Luck? Development? It’s a perennial problem that flat out isn’t one for these other programs.

I hope so. The man has been a strong leader for years. I am so unimpressed with the folks on here who suggest he should: not have his contract extended, get fired, leave town. I guess they have not taken the time to learn about the Coach. He is kind, respectful, quick witted, and knows much more about football than most. We will never find a better coach. We are one of the best FCS programs in the US. He has helped keep us at that level. We are like Texas or LSU in the big leagues. We get close, have won a couple championships, and have huge expectations. We did well this year. I am so sorry we didn't go further, but maybe we can next year!
The best thing would be for him to retire. He's a visibly bitter man and it shows on the sideline and in interviews.
