We could get to the NC game after losing to MSU but we would have to be lucky and it isn’t a sustainable formula. That happened to MSU in 2021 the Griz boatraced them and then MSU went all the way to the National Championship game where they were boatraced by NDSU.

Major changes are needed to the program. That’s obvious to anyone who believes UM should be winning the conference most years and winning championships. MSU fired Ash - their savior. Look how they came out of that. A couple of tough years where they changed philosophy and now look at them. They are built to win multiple titles. We shouldn’t fear change.

After the AD fired Ash, then Waded immediately fired the AD and looked for new blood to inject some new ideas and life into what she felt was a stagnant athletic program. Since that time, MSU has steadily moved forward, especially with football and facilities. In the meantime, UM continues to talk about 1995 and 2001, is locked in to repeating the past and has the worst cronyism that one could ever imagine. Since Wayne Hogan departed there have been two under qualified internal AD candidates (compared to the pool of experienced applicants) hired and there has been no movement with any of the senior athletic personnel as well. They are terrified of new blood coming in and shaking things up. The whole department (other than possibly Colton), is apathetic and lazy. Great guys certainly. But producers? Yes, they got the athletic complex, student study facility, Coyle recovery room and bubble built. But I’m pretty sure that those projects were the result of those outside the AD offices facilitating the push to get them done. I can truthfully say that after having supported the department directly and indirectly to the tune of over $35K per year, I have never once been called and asked if I would like to support any capital campaigns or if there is anything more I can do. It appears that fundraising has turned into a large donor focused effort and there is little time for the smaller donors. End of the day, living in the past and believing “we are Montana” is dangerously toxic to growth and I’m much more concerned about that than whether Hauck should abandon the 3-3-5.

Maybe theres a need for better journalists. Bobby gets asked the dumbest fucking questions with the most obvious answers... its like a class of 7 year olds is interviewing him.

I listened to the whole podcast. These guys just railed on Bobby for an hour. I mean railed then said well he shouldn't be fired. Just tell him he is a shitty coach but do what we are telling you to do and everything will be fine. These guys are the biggest clowns I've ever been exposed to. If you want to hammer someone hammer them but don't put your scared little disclaimer on the end of your reaming.
To all you saying Bobby must get rid of his defense and then he will be a great coach, you are a bunch of morons with no critical thinking skills what so ever.

I mean despite their personal feelings the data doesn't lie, when playing MSU or the Dakota States we routinely get gashed on the ground (they have averaged 250 rushing yards a game against us and the 3-3-5) and that's contributed to a 4-9 overall recent record against those schools. Padding our stats against Northern Colorado, Portland State etc. doesn't change the fact when we face the upper echelons of FCS for the most part it struggles.

There are 2 solutions to this issue, one we try and recruit the guys we need to make this defense work (primarily an all star NT) which we haven't been able to do since 2023. Partly due to having loads of experienced Seniors and Covid players who had been in the system for awhile.

The other and more realistic option (and the one I prefer) would be to bring in a Defensive Scheme that is easier to learn (vital in this new Transfer Portal era) and most importantly for me doesn't constantly give up 3rd/4th and longs. A 4-2-5 would bring the best of both worlds, actual size and 4 bodies on the D-Line and enough DB/LBs to handle pass happy teams.

I would like a 4-2-5/4-3-4 hybrid depending on what teams we are facing along with getting bigger on the defensive line.

What's nice about the 4-2-5 is that you have a Hybrid strong Saftey/LB type (WOLF) which in a way means it kind of already is a 4-3 hybrid. Needs to be the best player on Defense and if there is one thing we routinely seem to have its good LBs and Safeties.

Merry Christmas! I was wondering what it would take to delay your fluffing by even a few hours, and now I know this was it. I’m just bummed out that we didn’t get your hot takes until 4 days after the game.

I listened to the Griz fan pod and they are asking many legitimate questions, and these guys are fans with character because they have dared to challenge the status quo. Yet, they still love the Griz which is a testament to their integrity. It seems as though you are comfortable with bashing fellow Griz fans (because they are not as smart as you think you are) and the status quo. I have been a Cat fan for 40 god damned years and I am sure as shit happy that we questioned the status quo during the late 1990s, the mid 2000s, and the Rub Ass era.

Listen, I think most Cat fans want Bobby to stay forever and for the coaching style to never change. It would be awesome, especially after the Bobby 2.0 results thus far. Don’t you want better for your team and fanbase?

Great. I didn’t realize I was so important to Griz football. I know Haslam and talk occasionally, but have never had a substantive conversation with him about Griz for football. I guess he just knows what I’m thinking.
