On to 2026

We know how to spell Gillman's name.
Well Gilman will most definitely not be back, since he was never here.

I am still uncertain about Gillman, loyalty only goes so far. If the money difference gets large enough he might be gone.

I want the young man to stay, but if he goes I will wish him the best.

Will be coming up from Tennessee for the season opener. Hoping to see Ah Yat back at QB, Gillman at RB, and a much stouter DL!

A brief look at our 26 schedule:

August 29 vs. Southern Utah - The T-Birds are in for a rude awakening in their return to the Big Sky. They've been benefitting from playing in the soft ass UAC the past 4 years. Welcome back lol

September 5 vs. Drake - They've won the Pioneer League the last 3 years but this should be an easy win for the boys.

September 12 vs. Utah Tech - Griz have kicked the shit out of them the last 2 times we've faced them. I expect this to be an easy win.

September 19 @ Oregon State - Definitely not the toughest FBS opponent in the world, but also not the easiest. If OSU is as bad as they were this year, then I think the Griz could pull the upset, but there's no way they're gonna be as bad as they were this year. They were abysmal. Probably gonna be tough to win, but they need to keep it close.

September 26 @ UC Davis - This is a very important game. If we want this team and this program to get over the hump and actually be able to reach the natty, then this is a game you have to have. It will be a tough game. Pinnick is damn good, but they've had a little portal movement so far and a great team would be able to go on the road and win a game like this.

October 3 vs. Northern Colorado - Could be a get right game or keep on keeping on game. Hopefully the latter.

October 10 @ Northern Arizona - Again, another road game that a great team would be able to win. With Ty Pennington graduating, you shouldn't have any problems winning there next year. No trap games if you wanna compete for a natty.

October 17 vs. Idaho - Thomas Ford is overhauling his staff after a pretty rocky first year. I don't think they'll be leaps and bounds better next year, but they should be improved. The game is at home though so you shouldn't have any issues.

October 24 BYE. Hallelujah! A normal bye week!

October 31 @ Eastern Washington - Games against these guys will always be tight on the red rug, but again I sound like a broken record, a great team would not lose this game. Are we a great team?

November 7 vs. Portland State - New look Viks should make for an easy win.

November 14 vs. Idaho State - Kind of a spicy game the week before the Brawl. Is Cooke back next year? I don't even know.

November 21 @ Montana State - What's the plan? How do they find a way to start winning in Bozeman? It needs to be the major focal point of the offseason. How do you go on the road and win this game? Figure it out.

A difficult, but opportunistic schedule next year. If you win at Davis on 9/26, then you put yourself in a great position to be rolling by the time they go to Bozeman.

I rarely comment on egriz anymore which I'm sure some of you find comforting. Haven't commented either before or after either cat game. But reading through some threads lately just has me shaking my head. First of all I don't know how you would expect next year to be anything better although I acknowlege that 13 - 2 is pretty good even in the shit FCS.

But if you expect bertter then state what will change. Most recognize that Hauck isn't going anywhere. Many of those know that he is stubborn so he isn't changing and certainly doesn't give a shit about the egriz rifraf's opinions. Fans still buy tickets even to shit games that have no chance to be competive. Most of the posters refuse to believe UM could attract a better coach even though what happened at MSU directly refutes that. (Interesting aside here is that Vigen could posssiby, if this years results were repeated, actually become coach six to Bobby's chagrin. Stop Hammer actually made some excellent points about the AD but we all know he isn't leaving either - Hauck owns him. Then the same wimp ass non-con schedule other than OSU and I doubt the Big Sky, other that the Cats, will be much of a threat so playoffs are a given. Many of you say you want to see change but then argue fiercely about changing anything because we are making playoff runs every year which even almost any above average coach could do with the resources UM has. If you think a new strenght coach is really going to make a difference good luck with that one. I'm sure BH and staff are out there today attempting to buy next year's team because he is just enamored with the portal as his savior. But if you as fans want a NC, your going to have to hope for some stronger shit than what I've seen 95% of you post. You fear change more than you fear losing to the Cats or the DSU's so see you here next year with the same complaints.

We have a lot of talent that should be coming back but the schedule next season will be more difficult than this one.

If you don’t think that Davis has a recruiting advantage with their location, you’re stupid
Are you going to say NAU has a recruiting advantage because Chandler, Hamilton and Saguaro are some of the best high school football programs in the country? These programs are better than anyone by Davis besides De La Salle and possibly Folsom.

2026 will be the same as the last decade. Yeah! Can't wait to watch FCS national championship game from home again!
Funny isn't it?.. you pretty much called it before the MSU-Montana outcome and had numerous idiots like Ursa major, everittgriz, hookedongriz, billingsgrizzly all coming after you for being a troll..

Funny that there nowhere to be found now and strangely silent...a little bit of humility would serve them right, we will see if any man up and apologize.

I think otherwise. Get ready for a 7-5 season next year. OSU is going to destroy this defense without passing a single time. Davis, and Eastern will shred this D. Again. Winning at NAU, just doesn’t happen any more. Finally, the cats will blow out the Griz again in Bozeman. Next years group, if no changes are made, will be home for Thanksgiving watching schools that actually have priorities right play. The university has WASTED 15 years of support through mismanagement and hubris.

We lose our ass in the portal this year.
I agree OSU, Davis and Bozangeles are L. But not ewoo. 10 years ago I would have agreed with you, but that program has become an embarrassing fail. NAU will be a coin toss.

I've mentioned this in a couple other threads. There should be no debate that Ah Yat is our starting QB. But I'm afraid that Bobby will bring in a transfer to compete for the job which shouldn't happen. Bring in someone to add depth to the QB room but after the season Ah Yat had and the toughness he's shown all year should make him the starter. I believe Gillman and Ah Yat are FBS caliber talent, but why do people think they will leave? Even in this day of NIL $$, I still believe there are some kids who play for legacy, loyalty and tradition.

So Flowers can’t be competition? Seems he has been developing and was neck and neck with Jensen for QB 2 this year. We also have Sliter and Jay coming in.

You're saying Flowers should be in a competition with Ah Yat for the starting job next year? If there is any competition it should be for who is the backup. But our starter is Ah Yat! If you don't think Ah Yat should be the starter after what he did this year then that is ridiculous.

I’m saying that I don’t see the staff bringing in another QB when they are finally developing QBs in every class. You know that big gripe the fanbase had before the defense became the big gripe
Bobby has brought in a QB every year for the last number of years.

And how many of those years did we have an incumbent QB?
Well I remember the last one was in 2023 after we lost the NC, he told McDowell he would have to compete for the starting job as a senior. And as much as I love Ah Yat, last year would've been perfect if we kept McDowell as the starter and have Ah Yat come in and give him a few series like they did in 2023. In 2023, Ah Yat rose to the backup a little bit after mid season. They allowed him to split some time with Mcdowell in the later half of the regular season. They should've done the exact same last year. But now Ah Yat has more than established himself as the #1 and I agree with you that they shouldn't bring in anyone, but Booby's track record has prove otherwise.
