Positivity is not rat poison. Negativity is.How was it any more or less helpful than ignoring things that were evident?

Let's pretend the 54 yrd.run didn't happen which is ridiculous.Nope, I don't. I acknowledge the real deificicencies frequently and ahead of most people. But I don't buy clueless and unkknoweldeable general comments that have no bearing on reality. Without one long run where the Griz D completely lined up in the wrong formation and gave Jones the whole side of the field, he averaged 5.8. Yes, more for the game. Yes, a big run. But not matter what you say, he averaged 5.8 on his other runs. I feel sorry for all the kids you coached. You must have been a terrible coach.
Who was that "negativity" impacting midseason that made it harmful?Positivity is not rat poison. Negativity is.
I think the house is on fire in one (maybe 2) glaring areas. Recruiting of Montana kids in all athletics and university wide for general student body.No one wants the Griz to lose. Be real.
so you agree with him that the house is on fire but are mad he said what he said during the season?
I think we also need to prioritize getting linemen out of the portal that have developed at other schools. In the first Hauck era we had a lot of elite guys transfer in up front. Most of our guys besides Hunter Peck in the trenches were not transfers. He came from NAIA the guys I am talking about that we got during the Hauck 1.0 era came from the top of the FBS like Oklahoma and Oregon. Why are we not getting those guys anymore the second Hauck era?I think the house is on fire in one (maybe 2) glaring areas. A 2nd category could be the strength and conditioning program. We need more out the significant investment of the champions center. I have not seen an overwhelming improvement in the development of our football team in overpowering our opponent.
Coaches talk about it all the time. The outside noise constant fan negativity is harmful and to not be regarded. There are variations of this, but negative fans are crux of the point.Who was that "negativity" impacting midseason that made it harmful?
Ignoring criticism because it doesn't make you happy is always a surefire way to promote growth.Positivity is not rat poison. Negativity is.
The fact that you continue the personal attacks despite an overwhelming wave of evidence that you’re in the wrong is the work of a delusional keyboard gangster that can’t accept reality. Stop being such a pussy. Real men can admit they are wrong. Finally getting around to posting about this thread... all things considered, it's still obvious andy shmit is low T and miserable in life, and thought his shitty attitude towards the griz mid season was somehow helpful. Some on here enabled him by saying stupid things such as "hes just willing to say the things that are needed to be said". How on earth was this helpful mid season? Not one gawdamn bit. Now he's gloating because his negativity came to fruition. A very sad state to be in in life.
Now that season is over, I'll be putting a thread together of things our team, our university as a whole, and athletics dept can improve on. The losses to the cats ripped my heart out, but not as much as those on the field. As an alum, passionate fan, and booster, there are concerns, and improvement to be made. I remain confident this is on the forefront of this staff's mind as well. It was an amazing season, but also a season not up to standard.
Success is not final and failure is not fatal, it's the courage to continue that counts. Mr Churchill said it best.![]()
This is also something I pointed out to andy. His o lines included guys from power 4 schools. I absolutely agree with you here, but honestly? I dont see us getting those same dudes in today's portal / NIL world. They are so sought after, its tough. Doesnt mean we shouldn't try our damndest though!I think we also need to prioritize getting linemen out of the portal that have developed at other schools. How am I in the wrong? I never said our o line was dominant. I said they were definitely capable of winning a title. They didnt, but does not mean they couldn't have. Now the season is over, and the results are the results. Go improve. And the trenches is somewhere we need improvement. The fact that you continue the personal attacks despite an overwhelming wave of evidence that you’re in the wrong is the work of a delusional keyboard gangster that can’t accept reality. You and Jack have been both been eviscerated six ways from Sunday. Time to accept it and grow as a human being.
Primarily because they’re gettingI am talking about that we got during the Hauck 1.0 era came from the top of the FBS like Oklahoma and Oregon. Why are we not getting those guys anymore the second Hauck era?
Which is shitty, but is true.Primarily because they’re getting’s to sit the bench on FBS rosters.
Interesting how posters on here atribute the Griz loss to you and Jack. Somehow if you both would have bitched more it would have put the Griz over the top.How am I in the wrong? Yeah I was going to say Levi Horn didn’t play a single down at Oregon and JD Quinn played some at Oklahoma but he was kicked off the team for something not football related. Even if they are getting NIL money to sit on the bench they are not getting looks to play at the next level without game film. Why not try to go after some guys sitting on the bench at a top FBS school? Hauck does have a history of taking those types of players to the NFL.Which is shitty, but is true.
You are confused with the term “rat poison” coined by the greatest college football coach of all time. You spew the exact garbage that Saban was specifically talking about. Continue to say how great we are and how wonderful everything is is not helpful at all. You and hoops are ego guys. It’s not negative to not want to be complacent.I'm not a big negativity guy. Its rat poison for almost everything in life. It wasnt fact this season the things our team he was critical about weren't capable of winning a national title. We could've won both the games we lost. We didnt, thats competition, and now we must analyze what needs to be done to improve. Its not like we're a professional sports franchise that can bring in a new lineman via free agency. Our squad was what it was, and enthusiasm, mementum and support are far more favorable than negativity. ESPECIALLY while we were undefeated.
This shall not be confused with "sticking your head in the sand" as, of course, Andy Shmit basically says. There is always a time and place where reflection and introspection, and improvement always needs to be addressed. Even if we had won the natty This would be the case.
The game has changed. Even backup OL at FBS schools are getting paid more than what most FCS schools can offer.Yeah I was going to say Levi Horn didn’t play a single down at Oregon and JD Quinn played some at Oklahoma but he was kicked off the team for something not football related. Denile is rat poison.Positivity is not rat poison. Negativity is.
Totally agree. We have done that... the cal kid this year that didn'tplay much this season, Everett johnson also came from cal. The best in recent history was our center 2 years ago AJ Forbes & tackle Chris walker, both from Nebraska. None of which were as the same caliber as Quinn, horn etc. Only option for transfer back then was transfer down to fcs. Im not sure we get those dudes in the portal now. But again, doesnt mean we shouldn't try.Yeah I was going to say Levi Horn didn’t play a single down at Oregon and JD Quinn played some at Oklahoma but he was kicked off the team for something not football related. Bear Bryant never used that term in his life. You are confused with the term “rat poison” coined by the greatest college football coach of all time. I did not deny shit. I had confidence we could win with the group we had. Still believe we could have. Didnt happen, regroup and improve.Denile is rat poison.
