Yeah the Cubs (Griz JV) used to play city league teams like Stockman’s prior to the Griz game and once in awhile a player on the Cubs would end up having a role on the Griz team in later years - not often though and I can’t think of an example. Teams like Stocks would have recently graduated Griz players too, which made the games interesting.

Those were the days!!

If not mistaken, I believe a Ryan Dick started out as a Cub, then made the varsity late 90's.

Back in the day, ALL Griz started out on the Cubs, as freshmen were not eligible.
