Can’t watch, what’s the reason for the delay?
Well hang on. We still have Tech next weekBring on Louisville!! We're obviously ready!!
Yeah that'll be another grinder.Well hang on. We still have Tech next week![]()
So the Griz varsity squad could get an offensive rebound to help bolster the teams confidence before the big Louisville game?Terrible game. Why did we schedule them
Local, on the cheap, easy to schedule, community relations. But kind of like a charity/exhibition game, would have made more sense as a fundraiser, maybe for a common community cause., etc. From another source, looks like the SKC guys and their supporters enjoyed the opportunity to play and for the exposure.Terrible game. Wasn't this the replacement game when Northern Iowa bought their way out of the game with short notice?Local, on the cheap, easy to schedule, community relations. This was the last one added to the schedule yes.Wasn't this the replacement game when Northern Iowa bought their way out of the game with short notice?
I don’t know if the American or Montana Indian leagues ever have all star teams, but it would be awesome to watch that talent on the floor of the Harry Adam’s fieldhouse with the Griz, statewide crowd, and really make an event of it in their powder blue uniforms. Have a uniform auction event after the game benefitting both the U and Indian leagues in the process..Local, on the cheap, easy to schedule, community relations. Great idea! Harkens from times long ago, when the Griz had a JV/Frosh team that would play "town all-stars", comprised of locals and surrounding area who were former Griz and other collegiate players, from schools far and near and/or talented net swishing athletes. We could have our non-starting/bench players get out there!I don’t know if the American or Montana Indian leagues ever have all star teams, but it would be awesome to watch that talent on the floor of the Harry Adam’s fieldhouse with the Griz, statewide crowd, and really make an event of it in their powder blue uniforms. Remember Mike Chavez? He belonged!
Go Griz!
Yeah. Back in the day, Weber had a Frosh/JV team as well. I kept the score book for them. They used to play all of the local JC teams and the JV teams from Utah, USU, and BYU. The teams would consist mostly of freshmen and walk-ons. Every once in a while a walk-on would make it to the varsity team. That ended in the late 70s. Too bad.Yeah the Cubs (Griz JV) used to play city league teams like Stockman’s prior to the Griz game and once in awhile a player on the Cubs would end up having a role on the Griz team in later years - not often though and I can’t think of an example. Teams like Stocks would have recently graduated Griz players too, which made the games interesting.
Those were the days!!
