Robbie Hauck

Or, you could argue that is why most football is generic and sucks especially the NFL. Do you ever wonder why the coaches that succeed like Cignetti at Indiana, Dillingham at ASU, Campbell at Detroit etc for example, are different?
Curt Cignetti's father is a hall of fame college football coach lmao

I don't agree with your assertion that football sucks. There are obviously some great coaches who didn't come from a family of coaches, but there are, as exemplified in this interaction, a ton that are that people don't even realize.

You get better at coaching by working with better coaches, and having a network from your family to get access to better coaches is always going to be an advantage.

I agree with the last part of your statement. NFL is just 40 teams playing not to lose and the Lions

It's funny how a lot of the best coaches in college football and the NFL are nepotism hires.

If someone grows up in a football coaching household, I don't know why people are shocked that they become better at coaching football.
Nepotism can kill interest from outside. Why would a quality candidate seek the position if there is a presence of Nepotism and junior in the wing?

As people have mentioned in the thread already, Robby would be a fantastic fit coaching the secondary or safeties on this team, and a huge help to recruiting.

It seems you would rather have an outside hire just for the sake of it.

I was impressed with that onside kick he ran at start of Griz PDX St game. Pretty cool to stick it to the old man right away.

How did this somehow become an onside kick. Skyline kept repeating that too during the week after. It was a poorly handled squib kick 30 yards down the field? Just because it was recovered by the kicking team doesn’t make it an onside kick.

Agree, regardless it was a good call from Robby to mess with the return team and try and build momentum out of the gate.

St coordinater? tri-defensive coordinator. Bobby can break new ground. No team has ever had 3 defensive coordinator before Could be legendary. Sure 2 qb didnt Work yes co-defensive coordinator wasn’t great. But 3 defensive coordinator? Wow no one could challenge that.

I'd take Robbie as a Special Teams coach. Pretty sure we would drastically improve in that area too.
Wait...I thought BH was a special teams genius and constantly pursued by NFL teams as a ST coordinator. How could we possibly need help in that area...especially from a still wet behind the ears young college coach...regardless of what his last name is.

Bobby has been great with ST in the past but, its kind of went down hill this year. The kicking game hasn't been great since 2.0 and all the onside kicks that get recovered by opposing teams is insane.. Maybe Bobby just has too much on his plate.. who knows... but, I do think Robbie could be very helpful, its always good to have new perspective and he's learned a lot growing up. Take what hes learned and add his own stuff into the mix and could be something spectacular.

Also it seems like younger coaches these days are doing better than old ones that are stuck in their same ol same ol mindset.

Either evolve or die. (Metaphorically speaking)

Robbie may have other aspirations, better opportunities...I think he is a valued commodity. Since we know what he's all about, time tested, but not a mountain of experience, he's an excellent prospect.. Get him while we can.
