Post game: time to hit the panic button?

Yeah, KAY missed 4 passes out of 30 if you look at it objectively. He was 22-30, but of those eight misses the Griz had one pure drop, one throw-away when no one was open, and two passes to the correct spot where his receiver inexplicably made the wrong read and took an alternate route. KAY was not to blame for the offensive inconsistency.

....
Agree, but where's the college coaches' handbook on how to effectively lead/manage your team when said team plays 12 consecutive regular-season games in a row with no bye ?

I think Coach Hauck is using all of his and his staff's extensive knowledge and experience so as to make it through this unprecedented, difficult regular season, he knows our injury situation and we don't, and it's real easy for us armchair qb's to second guess him. In hindsight, we should have kept our starters in longer, but had I been Bobby yesterday, we're up 22-0, my team is banged up from playing 10 games in a row, I am also substituting. It's a cliche' but true: hindsight is ( always ) 20-20. !!!

And I did hear him mention in the post-game press conf. that our D regularly had 4 men, not 3, on the LOS yesterday so it sounds like to this armchair QB that for most of the game yesterday, we were playing a 4-2-5.
agree...as much of the game seemed frustrating to watch Bobby is playing the end game...its a' war of attrition' and how does he keep the strongest players to survive.... at this point he's not concern with big blowout games but keeping his best guys fresh...keep it vanilla and win with the back ups while giving them playing time ....I don't think they expected EWU to catch up...Eags definitely got caught them with their pants down... its hard for us to watch but he knows what he needs to do to win when we hit the brawl let alone playoffs...at least I hope so...its not his first time to the rodeo...I'm expecting a different team coming into the brawl with lots of surprises....hopefully at full strength..

Throwing this out there...possibly is Hauck doing plainness on both sides of the ball to throw off MSU when everything will be unleashed?
One can only hope.
You surely jest. The inconsistent level of play will however have reached deep into the grey matter of the MSU players, coaches and fans. They cannot help but feel overconfident at this point. This will be a bigger factor than the north end zone crazies because it a subconscious belief reinforced consistently by past performance. Nothing their coaches can say at this point that will change this unintended training. I have faith the players want to win and will once again find a way. Go Griz!

Griz are one of the few undefeated teams in FCS and the only undefeated team in the Big Sky conference. Griz D withstood being on the field for most of the second half and the EWU passing onslaught. UM is 8th in the nation in Red Zone Defense. EWU was 4-7 yesterday. UM is 22d in sacks, slightly behind NDSU and UND. UM is 3d in the nation in interceptions. The Griz aren't giving up many long pass plays. Who's the drama queen here?
Defense on the field most of the second half and much of the first half. Give the D an A+ in conditioning.

Absolutely--after 8 sacks, more QB pressures and hits and 2 picks, 24 points allowed, and our 10th " W," it's absolutely time to panic and pee down our leg 🦵 😳 🤣, " We're 10-0 and We S U C K, dammit. !!! "
Those sacks don’t really mean a whole lot when the defense is consistently giving up 3rd and forever

We are in the middle of the pack on 3rd down conversions. Not great, but not terrible. The problem against EWU was we only had 53 offensive plays mostly due to poor 3rd down execution on offense. The defense was on the field literally the whole second half.
I think the reason we only had 53 plays was mostly because we rarely had a strong 1st or 2nd down.

Just rewatched the game.

That debacle is on the offense, not the defense. They were on the field almost the entire 2nd half and were bringing it every single play. Offensive play calling was SOOOOOO bad in the 2nd half. 100% Gillman up the middle on first, shitty play call on 2nd, then a pass behind the LOS or well short of the sticks and looking for miracle YAC. To think we had a 12 point lead with 3 minutes to play and almost lost that game…wow. We couldn’t have had 100 yards of offense in the 2nd half.

The defense is statistically one of the worst in the nation. The defense has been soooo bad all year that they turn average QBs into future portal stars.

No it isn’t. It is fine in points allowed, not great. Very good in red zone defense. Very good in passing efficiency defense. Near the very top in nation in interceptions. Pretty good in sacks and great in sacks in the last half of season. Look up those stats and report back to us.

Question: If every QB threw 63 times in every game they played, how many yards do you think they’d get?

Question #2: Do you think the # of passes had anything to do with their complete inability to run the ball?

This team has played 10 games in a row, anyone who has played at any level understands how hard that is on the body. I'm not worried what I saw saturday as the Griz started as good as you can expect in the first quarter. I would assume the players probably let off a little getting up 22-0, I would say that has more to do with who they were playing and being the 10th game in a row than anything to panic over.

We only rushed for 48 yards in the second half, which is a complete anomaly, which tells me this team is need of rest. They will be ready for November 22nd!
This is the point I was trying to make in my thread What If...
