Is there pressure on this team to win another championship before we move up?

The bub trolls love to make fun of the number of championships that the Griz have by saying the Cats have more championships counting ones that were given by votes from newspaper reporters. The Griz will probably not compete for a championship immediately in the FBS nor will they be eligible for FCS postseason after announcing the move up so now is the time to put this bub argument to rest by winning a third championship.

It is quite jarring going from playing in front of 25,000 at home one week to 5,000 fans in Greeley the next week. UM should have already moved up or at this point they should form a conference with the Dakota teams that take football just as seriously. The Northern Colorados and Portland States have their own conference that will still be interesting but it isn’t the same as what is going on at Montana, Montana State, NDSU etc…

Ya I do think there is some pressure to win one before things change. I’ve actually thought about this a couple times. Who knows what the future of College Football looks like, but I’d like to see us win a natty before we know for sure what ends up happening. Of course, the pressure is from fans and there isn’t really any on the team.

I don’t see UM moving up as long as the fans fill our stadium every week.

While I agree with you in principle, no new conference is forming. That's a Don Quixote-like dream...

If you mean national championship, they won't compete for one before the heat death of the universe. C'mon, man.

I think there is more pressure on Hauck getting us a Championship just in general. The guy is so decorated, that he doesnt have a Championship under his belt. Not saying he is a bad coach or anything (stats show he is a good one), but I almost think he has taken us as far as he can unless he can make some adjustments. Its hard to be a winning team and have nothing to show for outside of being Conference Champs.

With UM’s resources and powers like the Dakota schools, no other coach would do any better. Hauck is and has been a terrific coach at Montana.

I used to to thi k UM should stay where they are but the landscape has changed too much with NIL. The Dakota and Montana Schools don't belong in FCS
Where should they go? How is this working out for Sac State? Montana and Montana State have never turned down an offer to move to another conference from what I have been told. You have to be invited to an FBS conference. Which conference is going to extend this invite?

Each playoff game is worth 5 million Semolinas to the economy of the greater Missoula metropolis. Montana won't move up until the mid FBS leagues have playoff system separate from the power conferences, so that Montana has a chance to host multiple playoff games.

At which point the folks in the must move-up cooperative will still post the same messages.
