For the final time, it's Griz - scats. The only people who call it cat-griz are those who grew up in a scat house or who didn't know about the rivalry until they were late into high school/college age.

Cats also had a bye week and the Griz don't. Considering our success this season, I see Bobby adapting his philosophy now and into the future.

I'm not one to keep picking on any one's perspective but...
I'm watching the beginning of the NE game and they show a set of stats. They started 1-2 and then went 5-0. The stat that mosts sticks out to me (and yes they improved on both O and D), but the stat I noticed was turnover diff.
They went from -3 to +5 turnover diff. in their turnaround of W/L.
Sometimes TOs are a result of good D and sometimes its errors on O or ST. Sometimes its just mental errors on a poorly coached team (see Sac State). We overcam our early D mental errors at WSU because our O was cooking like crazy.

I still say that one aspect of this great game cannot be solely responsible for winning.

And you could listen to the nonsense that comes form hm.grwn, who neither played the game nor understands it. I've never understood why people who never played the game try to undercut people who played the game, even in decades ago. To me, it shows that they are clueless about the game of football.

Defense wins games is a cliche. Often used by people who don't know enough about football to assess what is important to a particular team or game. Yes, defense is important, but it's only one of the many pieces. Some posters apparently don't know enough to even know that.

My new handle is the last year I played for the Griz, and when you younger fans talk about throw backs, the current colors of maroon and silver are what we wore in the 60’s.

I digress, while my wife and myself are at home we attend all the Griz home games. We are getting older so now we fly down to our house in Arizona (not our home as our home will always be in Montana). If we still drove down we would have been at the game yesterday.

I will give my perspective, even as an 80 year old I still keep learning and watching the game. My son coaches and my grandson is still playing football in Montana, high school, to be honest.

I’m not a betting man by nature, and with the recent news I think that’s ok.

With regards to the Brawl, I would say that the Griz will be a 3 to 5 point favorite going into the game, if they both win the next two games/weeks.

I think the Griz have the better offense and the Cats have a better defense. That is my opinion, no science behind that statement.

I also believe that Gilman and Wortham need to play to their potential for the Griz to win. While Ah Yat has turned into the QB we expected he will need help. I don’t think that Wortham or Nacho will be a factor in the return game. Neither team will want to kick the ball to them.

If the Brawl is decided by fewer than 5 points and they both win their games the next two weeks does anyone think the selection committee would/will seed them #2 and #3?

A Brawl in the semifinals would be, well probably the biggest Brawl ever. The only bigger Brawl would be if they both made it to Nashville early next year.

I guess they will seed the winner as the #2 seed the loser as a #6 or #7 seed and it would be a quarter final or semi final Brawl as well.

I maybe an exception with this next comment, but I hope that both teams win the next two games and the Brawl is close with the Griz winning and the Cats get the #2,6 or7 seed so we can beat them TWO times in the same season.

I love that you pointed out we wore maroon and silver in our day. And I really love that you referred to Dowler as ‘Nacho’. I burst out laughing.
I grew up a Griz fan in Bobcat land, and ALWAYS referred to it as Gr8z-Cat game. Just the way I was brought up, I guess.

I went to school at UM, graduated from UM, lived and worked in Missoula for several years and I have, do, and will continue to use " we," and if you don't like it, with all due respect, I don't give a rat's a$$ !!!

And I knew two of your late contemporaries Jim Searles, who was my professional mentor, and Tom Hauck, both not only GRIZ veterans but also fellow military veterans ( Jim: Air Force, Tom: Army, Me: Marine Corps) and they didn't bat an eye when I or other UM alum and/or fans used the term " we" around them.

And I am pretty sure the next time " we " have a financial need, Kent Haslam and his subordinates will not fail to contact " us " ( we ) to support the project with some of " our " ( we ) money !!!

Go GRIZ !!! ...from a proud member of " we."
 
FCS football rosters are pretty thin. SDSU looked good until they lost Mason. Watching Idaho at NAU on Friday night, the Vandals looked improved mostly because they've recovered from some injuries.

I don't there's any truth to FCS having only 4 good teams. The Griz are incredibly fortunate to have played 9 games without a break and with the same starter at QB. We know how badly things can go when the starting QB goes down, or key player on defense is sidelined. Going a half without Payton Wing was sobering.

" We are here to support the/our Griz."

" Our" is the possessive--possessive adjective if you're having an itch to be technically correct--of " we."

So if you're offended by " we," you probably don't want to use "our " or "we" in the subjective case, " us," either or you'll be arrested by the "we" semantics, grammar and usage police 🚔 !!!
