catholic high school bozeman 1960's and 1970's football

maybe somebody remembers this better than i do - there used to be a catholic high school in bozeman that played class c football (i think) in the 60's/70's. i think it was called rosemary high school or something like that, and i remember them playing a championship game in the fieldhouse in the 70's, when the weather was abysmal. if i remember correctly (hah), the field they used was 80 yards long, and possibly dirt. can anybody fill in the blanks for me? gracias :)
I’m a 1970 grad of Rosary High School. I was at that football game in the Brick Breeden field house. I’m pretty sure that was the first and last indoor football game in Montana. Rosary won that game by beating Charlie if I’m not mistaken. I was fortunate to play on the 1969 state class C Rosary basketball championship team that went 29-1. We were led by coach Tom Greenough an Anaconda native. Our only loss was to a Pat O’Connor coached park City team in the championship game of Divisional's by a whopping 25 points. We had to come back to Laurel on Monday to challenge St Leo’s from Lewiston for a trip to State in Helena. Pat O’Connor went on to coach at Glendive and then Billings Senior I believe. Not sure but I think he won titles at the C, B and AA levels. Awesome coach!
As far as I know the old Rosary was still standing in March of this year. It became the Gallatin Co Law and Justice building after Rosary closed. It’s scheduled to be demolished in the near future if it hasn’t already.

oh, and i remember that at first the nuns loved me, told the other kids i was a model student, and got me voted in as the class president. they thought i was a model student because i was quiet and studious, but that was just because i didn't know anybody yet. by the end of the year, i believe they considered me somewhat of a disappointment, because i made friends and soon never considered being quiet or studious again. go figure...

addendum - wasn't there a running back on that rosary team who was outstanding, and went off to some known university to play? maybe colorado? and speaking of catholic school students, carroll had a guy in the 70's who was all-american, and considered a possibility for the next level. the name dan rambo comes to mind, but that's probably wrong. anybody know who i'm talking about?

Ramblin Dan Rambo!

Best part of travelling to eastern MT is watching 6 man games on Nemont TV.
You don't have to travel out here to catch games on Nemont TV. Unfortunately, Nemont only airs a certain number of games each season. But their quality is well above NFHS.

Reopened a few years ago but this year renamed themselves St. Patricks Academy.
Of course Great Falls Central - our GFC Mustangs beat Great Falls High Bison in Fall of '70, followed by #1 ranking in State AA after that one and only time we beat the Bison on the football field! Ever been part of a legend, subsequently erased by renaming the school St. Patrick's Academy?
