As soon as one of his superiors call him out on all his nonsense he’ll pull the Race Card out. Maybe that’s why they’re giving him enough rope to hang himself.

Wood claims again and again that funding his athletics push in no way reduces funding for academics; wrong! He has the power to reduce future student fees but will not do so. He states publicly that the students strongly support his athletic push; wrong! “I have written Dr. Wood two emails about his poor choice of words and characterizations. Like the author of this great article, zero response. The thrust of my comments was to please act "presidential" - Dr. Wood has a doctorate and the head of a prestigious 30,000+ student university. Please act like it! As a graduate, I'm embarrassed for myself and the university. (BTW, the least expensive ticket to men's basketball is $32. After 56 years of attending, I'm done. Way too expensive).”

“Good questions and comments. I have a degree from Sac State but I am not proud of what it has become in sports or academics. In the past they used some local talent but now it is something different altogether. Right now for football it looks like they have given up against the league they think they are too good to play in.”

Of course, campus administration may be left with no alternative but to drop it altogether. That might be the best thing for the vast majority of students who have little interest in sports, as well as those student athletes who have seen their sports sacrificed to the altar of the football gods.”

Did Yachti even perform? I thought the report was they called it off after a few minutes because of security issues. That is a lot of wasted money! Just to attempt to fill their stadium half full.
It takes a lot of $10 ticket sales to recoup that outlay.

Really don’t think he meant it that way. It’s a figure of speech that would work for any person of any race in that position (which should be pretty obvious). I get how you and a few others got there, but IMO it’s not a blatantly racist statement. I think “we” need to do better at not getting so immediately triggered and seeing red so easily. Approaching stuff like this more pragmatically would serve everyone better than just being immediately accusatory.
Personally, I don't think it's a racist statement at all. Which is why I said "phrasing", like the Archer joke. Basically, just light-heartedly saying that maybe there was a better idiom to use given the subject and his recent statements regarding Montana. That's all.
It's interesting on the Sac board that they're all still very confident that Sac is going FBS. And many still believe they're going to break ground on a new stadium soon (they're had their current "temporary" erector set stadium for 30 years so...).
They're also blaming all of their penalties on a vendetta against Wood since he claimed the rest of us were JV. Now, we can all acknowledge that bsc officiating is horrendous. But neither that nor a vendetta is the reason they lead the known world in penalties.

Can't really say if a Sac Bee editorial reflects the reality of the Hornet's situation, but Woods has manfactured a persona to sell his school and the community on Sac State being better off in FBS. We've had SAC posters on this board identify Woods as the catalyst for this move.

It's not just the fans blaming the penalties on the refs - infer as you may - but it seems their head coach is too.
I suppose we are the reason they have 0 composure and fight with themselves on their own sideline as well? I expected better from Marion. He welcomed the noise last week. He can’t consolidate this $4 million roster into anything that resembles a team and plays more for the name on the back of their jersey.
One of their highest paid players/recruits is riding pine!
