Stop complaining about the OL and give them some love

This is true...I noticed this and my wife said..."he should've just followed the blockers there". Obviously that wasn't the call, but we do know going forward it may be an option. I do think a lot of what is getting put on film is just that...putting things on film. Then when it comes down to it...FUN stuff off of that is what wins games. I would like to see more jet sweep stuff, as we certainly have players that can run it. There are a boatload of things to run off of jet sweep as well.

I mean, I'm definitely with Kyle Sample on hating that playcall, and I think it does say something about the confidence the coaches have in those types of plays.

But also if we accept the premise that the line is not good at getting a push, I kind of don't blame them.

Maybe we should have more confidence, though?

I'd recommend checking out the Utah highlights vs Colorado and ASU in particular. It's awesome how much of the offense is setup through it.

I don't like the play call, or design really. Id like to see Schaeffer used more up the middle lead blocking on short yardage. If you watch on short yardage, it's second level guys getting stops. O line is getting push. If you've got Schaeffer kicking that first backer to fill out, you're making those short yardage to gain plays i think. I've noticed this a few times. Hes usually coming back across formation instead of up the gap.

O line is playing well. Watch the cut ups. Coach shows missed assignments or poor play often at club, and he hasnt shown much in that regard of the o line. Of course there are plays they miss. But my overall point is, and we can quit beating this dead horse, is why hate on the oline when are playing reasonably well. Could they be better? Of course. Are they playing at a pretty damn high level? Yes,they are. Do they do the dirty work EVERY SINGLE PLAY? yes, its an absolute bar brawl in the trenches every gawdang snap. Do they get much glory for it ?? Not hardly at all. Except for some clown fans dogging on them in pods and message boards. I'm hear to defend the HOGS!!! It is not a glamorous life in the trenches boys and girls.

The coaching staff knows our OL isn't adept at run blocking so they are calling plays away from that on short yardage is my guess. The players look lost with the zone schemes they are supposed to be executing

The coaches don’t agree with your assessment by the way. My info is directly from the coaches twice in the past week.

Neither of you know that much but you sure like to tell everyone about it. I don't value either of your opinions either they are usually off base and in bad taste

No one is trying to bully you. You are just making yourself look more and more stupid. Most of the board knows that the 2 of us, and many more, know what's going on with the Griz and understand football, and enjoy seeing what we have to say. You won't last long.

I hope you are being sarcastic. We have already run roll outs off of RPOs this season. In addition, if the OC gives the QB the ability to check out of run plays on 3rd and short depending on numbers or defensive formations, then I fully expect the QB to execute on the pre-snap reads and check out of the run. Why should we run into 7 or 8 in the box when we can check out to a pass and pick up the first down. Ultimately, the best play available against what the defense is showing needs to be run and then executed by the 11.
