Says who? You? What do you know about football and defense?Comparing the D tackles at NDSU to those at UM shows how un-elite Bobby Hauck is. He needs to join the rest of the world and employ a two D-tackle front.
This alone is a leap since not a single person did any such thing. That’s a weird stretch you’re trying to make since I’ve only brought up Cignetti’s success. Apparently Indiana making the playoff last year and ranked #3 in the nation. You guys act like everyone wins at Indiana. You guys are wild.
You clearly do know, so please educate me why we persist in using a 3 man front, unlike NDSU and the rest.Says who? You? What do you know about football and defense?
Quite a level of entitlement in this one.You clearly do know, so please educate me why we persist in using a 3 man front, unlike NDSU and the rest.
i remember him saying he had to write checks to msu because he had a daughter or two going to school there, so he can't hate the place that much...We are not as dominant as we were 20 years ago during Bobby 1.0, but we are getting back there. And we are not comparing apples to apples, either. In 2005, Cal-Davis and Idaho didn't belong to The Big Sky--now they do and they are currently two of our conference's stronger teams. And 20 years ago, MSU's program was crumbling under Mike Kramer due to the drug ring run by a few of his players. While Coach Vigen also has had problems with all of the DUI's on his staff, he has weathered the storm and MSU is a more formidable opponent than it was after Mike was fired and Rob Ash took over.
Is Bobby perfect ? No--he can be a real prick. !!! That said, he inherited some of those hard edges from his dad Bob, who was a Marine ( See Gunnery Sergeant Hartman in " Full Metal Jacket." )
He inherited a mess from Coach Stitt--we had talented WR's like Sammy Akem and Samori Toure' but few O lineman. When we lost the so-called " Miracle in Missoula " in 2018, Bobby's first year back, we had a 272 lb starting RG that was a converted LB who was facing veteran MSU DT's that out weighed him by 15-20 pounds instead of vice versa. But Bobby steadily rebuilt our roster and after the Covid Year of 2020, Bobby led us to arguably our greatest regular-season win in program history, the 2021 upset of The Washington Huskies--the last time we beat UDUB was 1920,101 years earlier !!!
And after we had the 2023 title run, including the upset of NDSU in the semi's, and the loss to SDSU in Frisco, we had a rebuilding but still decent 2024, finishing @ 9-5.
Expertly using the transfer portal plus some of our high-school recruits like Liam Brown and a bigger, stronger, smarter Keali'i Ah Yat, we are now 6-0, and I think we are on the cusp of winning another NC, maybe this year. And that success flows from Bobby down through our excellent staff to our talented, hardworking, smart student athletes who excel both on the field, in the classroom, and in Missoula !!!
I don't like where we are, I love where we are !!! Several years ago while walking around the oval during Homecoming, I saw the bricks with names on them surrounding our grizzly bear and I started reading the names when I came across one brick inscribed with the names " Bobby and Stacey Hauck." When we play The Shi__y Kittiesin Bozeman, but our team stays in Livingston and after the game, the team showers and leaves Bozeman immediately only to eat dinner in Butte, that isn't some contrived act--that's a UM alum that truly hates our in-state rival, that always badly wants to beat them, that diligently, methodically prepares his team to do so, that's University of Montana alumni Bobby Hauck !!!
I am damn glad he's our head coach, and I think before he retires, we win at least one more NC, maybe more !!! Some of us don't realize it right now, but we're in tall cotton. Ten to twenty years from now, we may not be so let's enjoy and appreciate this ride directed by Coach Bobby Hauck. !!!
Since the only reactions that you receive to you little queries are from trolls, whether it was your intent or not, it is a very trolling question.I don't think it's bold. It's a fair question in the sports landscape now. Coaches get fired every year for not getting over the "hump"
He just loves his daughters more.i remember him saying he had to write checks to msu because he had a daughter or two going to school there, so he can't hate the place that much...
Dammit, 420, It's 17. 17 pages.no way this makes it to 16 pages...
A 3 man front like Nebraska? Or Texas Tech? Florida State? The Patriots? The Vikings? TCU? Oklahoma? You clearly do know, so please educate me why we persist in using a 3 man front, unlike NDSU and the rest.

Sure, but you played the game...Nothing wrong with the 3-3-5 its awesome, flexible and perfect for the FCS
I loved its versatility and in game adaptability

Talk to Bobby and the coaches like I have. I know something about defense, but the in’s and out’s of the 3 front scheme. If we played in a different conference, maybe we’d have a different scheme. You clearly do know, so please educate me why we persist in using a 3 man front, unlike NDSU and the rest.
More BULLSHIT! After acting as his own OC for 5 years, Solich shifted away from the option and in 2003 hired Barney Cotton as his OC, to accelerate this change. Suggesting he didn't move from the option offense is laughable. It's always a perceived lack of success that dooms a coach, whatever offense or defense he runs. And as we've seen here, it's the booster's perception which hold the greatest weight. That’s not true. They wanted to get away from the option. The offense was regressing as the defense was getting better under DC Pelini. That’s the truth. Also a big Husker fan with family and a relative who played there. The narrative was always to move away from the option. Again, you are assuming things that aren’t true. I didn’t want Solich fired either, but hindsight is 20/20 and they weren’t going to win another title running the option. It was dead at that point.

How is it a fair question at 6-0 to ask if the coach should be fired?
Who are you getting to replace him, James Franklin?
good lord, did you read the piece and listen to the whole podcast? Boosters were done with him.More BULLSHIT! (BTW, except in his final year the further he got from the option the worse the Huskers won/loss record)
Here's how AI describes this change:
To determine if Frank Solich moved away from the option offense at Nebraska, consider the following points:
- Solich initially continued the option offense established by Tom Osborne.
- He gradually incorporated more pro-style elements into the offense.
- The shift aimed to adapt to changing football trends and player skill sets.
- Solich's teams had varying success with the modified offense.
- The transition was met with mixed reactions from fans and analysts.
- Ultimately, Solich's tenure ended before a complete overhaul could be realized.
Really? Did you read my first post? Good God. I said it was upset boosters, and you replied it was staying with the option. I not only read it, I lived it. What a maroon! That’s

This team is not winning a national title.I'm not saying that the question is unfair, I was just providing my answer to your question. Always enjoy your thoughts and a good debate. I think you are confusing "has not won a national title" with "cannot win a national title."
