Cat game analysis

Unfair comparison of talent. Still cats desperately missing Touchdown Tommy. Unsure how good SD State is this year but after watching some of yesterday’s game I wouldn’t be shocked to see msu lose by several scores at home. They had a real problem making a tackle

I noticed after the first Bobcat possession that a couple of the OL guys looked like they were going to puke. Maybe a little too much Golden Corral, or Cracker Barrel?

Didn't only two Big Sky teams win yesterday? They weren't all playing the Ducks.
The best Big Sky team, the Montana Grizzlies were off. Northern Arizona looked respectable against an ASU team that I think could have a better chance of making the CFP than Oregon. Davis had to come back against Utah Tech they did not look great. Idaho almost beat FBS WSU although I am not sure how good of an FBS team WSU will be. They are definitely not on Arizona State or Oregon’s level.

Two beatdowns in a row...Natty and now this.
Our #2-rated FCS team did not represent very well on National TV
Add
Tommy not even making the practice squad
Sad days

I'm also not a fan of Taco's WNBA-inspired one bare leg outfit.

It could be three beat downs in a row South Dakota State is legit.

I'm honestly not convinced Oregon couldn't do the exact same thing they did to MSU to every single other top FCS team.

I think it's okay to try to extrapolate things at the micro level--Dowler looked great, Lamson looked better than I thought he would, the run game underwhelmed, defense tackled horribly--but trying to find sweeping conclusions at a macro level is gonna be a silly exercise.

For all we know, MSU could beat SDSU by 30 next weekend. If the same sloppy SDSU team from yesterday shows up, I'm fairly certain MSU will win that game.

Nothing to see here.
Taco looked good but he needs help from the other pass catchers. SDSU looked like they have taken a small step backwards.
Next weeks game will be huge for both teams! ( duh)
Both teams lost a ton of talent.
Right now it is NDSU and Tarlenton State then everyone else.

I didn’t think Tarleton looked very good. Did you watch game?

Why did Idaho stick with Oregon last season? Wasn’t Oregon no. 3 in nation with one loss last year?

Oregon may be great again this year, but my view is that the Cats made them look good. It works both ways.

I thought sdsu looked EXTREMELY beatable. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if the cats beat them by 10-14 at home. If sdsu cleans up a lot of mistakes then it should be a good game.

The cats were never going to keep it close vs Oregon. Any of their dumb ass fans who thought they would be within 20 are bigger idiots than I thought.

Taco looked good

Qb got the ball out fast and looked accurate.

They will miss Tommy like I’ve said for a long time now.

Their tackling was abysmal. Some of the worst tackling from a cats team I’ve seen.

They didn’t make one stop on defense. 9 straight scoring drives for Oregon regardless of 2nd team or 3rs team.

Too many pre snap penalties and procedural penalties by cats too. They have A LOT to clean up

Zero run game, which is also weird to see from a cats team.

Oregon looked really really good
I 100% agree with your assessment. They got pushed around by the OL, and the Oregon DL rushed at will. The team speed and athleticism wasn't comparable. I venture to say that any FCS team and many FBS teams would have suffered the same fate. This is one of the top teams in the country and they're going to the FBS playoffs. They may not lose a game. They'll probably do the same thing to Oklahoma State next week. Can the Cats really be this bad? I hope they are. I hope they lose every game in this fashion, but alas, they won't. They're probably gonna lose to SDSU, but after that get it back together; unless their self esteem is totally ripped out by then-which i really hope happens. FTC! Go Griz!

I don't think there's much you can take away from it if you remove bias. If anything I think any positives that you observe are just even more impressive.

In 2022 they lost to Oregon State 68-28 in a similar fashion, and they proceeded to make it to the semis that year, losing to a very special SDSU team.

Cats will be a tough team again this year I'm sure.
Yes, however in that game they had a few drives where Oregon State couldn’t stop their run game, that was anything but the case on Saturday vs the Ducks.
