Copper and Gold

Either the M store manager has it all wrong or throwbacks WILL be a thing this year. You can catch her comment starting at around the 12 minute mark.

This is a terrible unforced error on her part. "We are recording a travel blog." "Oh, well let me tell you a secret that I'm not supposed to say, just don't put it on TV, I'm sure nobody watches youtube." 🤦‍♂️

I can't quite figure it out. Was it an elaborate Easter egg for Griz fans to find on purpose? Or was it really as accidental as she made it seem? It didn't really seem to have the usual "Psst... Come here and I'll tell you something super secret that I'm not supposed to tell you. Wink Wink" kind of feel to it. But how could she not know that something like that would get out of eventually?

I get the impression she thought that when they said "travel blog" she figured it was like their personal blog that is just for their own entertainment and not a youtube channel with hundreds of thousands of views. Still, though, if there is a secret like that you don't tell ANYBODY. The last time they did it was a surprise (at least for me and the people I was with), and it was amazing.

I don't know about that, she was pretty quick to add in her experience of being interviewed for TV. Might be looking for a new job when it all gets out though, this isn't anything that I think would be a promotional opportunity to increase sales. Who lives in Missoula? Go down there and ask her if she knows what egriz is.

You're probably right and she just didn't think it would go anywhere. This should be a lesson to all of us that if you say anything, anywhere, at any time to someone with a camera, it now exists forever.

Sadly, Hansen has already made it public on his Twitter. It is already well beyond the reach of Egriz.

Is she the only person in Missoula who doesn't know about the internet and egriz? LOL.

I could see not realizing what egriz is all about and having something like that potentially end up here. I am sure she has heard of it though it's a common topic around town and probably gets mentioned a lot for her at work.

Also, how about the young lady in the yoga place? I don't know if she put shoes on, but how can you serve beverages and other things to people without wearing shoes? Isn't that still required? I have to admit, she came out the door barefoot and I immediately thought of the old term from back at school, 'oh my god, she's a granola!' Of course, she is from Russia and would have no idea of that, but some things about Missoula will never change.

I don’t think there’s much of a secret. The UM athletic dept has been putting out a copper/gold vibe for a long time now (mailings, pics, QB club colors, etc). At this point, they are simply trying to drum up the excitement for it to sell a bunch of merch. Solid move really.
Sigh!

In the past I have ordered Griz gear online or even bought it at Walmart in Missoula. Seems like if I need to buy new gear in the old colors, I'm going to be forced to do so at either the M store or the university bookstore. Because if they don't announce it till the end of this month, that leaves very little time for shopping. Which I am sure is the goal.

I hope not, that would be the premium price. I went to the blackout game and got the t-shirt at Scheels. You don't think they would carry that possibly? Of course, if they don't know...which is why the M Store and Bookstore can charge the premium price.

Call for a father quote, "them dirty, rotten sons-a-bitches."

Since this is the closest I get to anything that is social media, can you share the details of what he said about it?
He just reposted the video on twitter with this caption --

"Not sure the truth to this rumor, but at the 12:30 mark of this video from an influencer who was in town, someone at the M Store says #GrizFB has the copper throwback jerseys planned this season. This rumor comes around every year so will be curious

Oh yeah I forgot about Scheels. So yes there would be some other retailers in Missoula that would probably have the new / old gear. However when I'm in Missoula with my family, shopping isn't usually the first thing on my mind.

They're probably not wearing new uniforms for the whole season, seeing as how we already have a blackout (CWU), stripe the stadium (Indiana St) and maroon out (MSU) planned as game themes already (unless they just....cancel all of those lol).

Seems like the plan, like some have mentioned, is to sell limited edition merch for the anniversary.

Maybe it's all smoke and mirrors!
