STATS Preseason Top 25 - Griz #7

The big sky was tougher that year than MV. Let’s bet on whether MV has 4 in top 6 this season.
I am saying 4 this year. I don’t think the MVC is as strong as the last few years. The BSC was definitely stronger that year. I don’t think that’s the case this year.

Come November 22nd, the #1 ranked home team will host the 8th ranked neighbors from across the hill.

A decisive win and a 12-0 record sets the GRIZ up to face the nodakers in Nashville, and GRIZ fans are encouraged to arrive by Tuesday of championship week to ensure that every ounce of fried chicken in the entire state of Tennessee has not already been gobbled up.

We can argue about conference strength and where they stand against each other top to bottom, but until the BSC starts actually winning title games against them then it’s still in the tier below the MVFC. Hasn’t happened since 2010, and the only other teams to pull it off are now FBS.

I do agree with Copper though. Now with new coaches and QBs in key programs it looks like this season is up in the air for whoever wants to step up and take it. We need to make the most of our schedule and make Everett’s prediction happen and keep playoff games at home.

Cats offense charged with Mellot. Same thing with NDSU QB & SDSU. Lots of unproven leadership at the QB position. Anyone else feel like that levels the playing field a bit????

Bending a knee.
Not Dartmouth. "

In April, the U.S. Senate confirmed her as assistant attorney general for civil rights [Harmeet Dhillon,] putting her in charge of protecting the civil rights of all Americans, including college students.

How do you see your office approaching civil rights issues with respect to universities?

I have written letters from this desk to the top 25 colleges in the United States. It’s well publicized that this administration is taking aim at institutions that are failing to follow the [rulings] by the Supreme Court. Certainly racially biased admissions and religiously biased admissions are problematic. Those practices need to be eradicated according to the Supreme Court.

At this stage, a few months into your role, what have you set in motion?

We’re taking the lead in the government’s work to combat discrimination in America’s universities. Every day is a new challenge. Every day there are civil rights violations that come across our desk, and we have to prioritize our resources and figure out how to deal with them.

I know you’ve engaged with Dartmouth since we last spoke. How is that going?

Look, I’m proud that Dartmouth is leading the way in dealing with antisemitism and campus unrest. I never thought I’d say those words. But I have to say, compared to the other Ivy League schools that I’m dealing with on a daily basis, Dartmouth is really one of the good guys. And I hope it stays that way."

Definitely feels like the field is wide open this year with basically all of the blue blood FCS programs (and the Cats) having unknowns at the QB position. I also think that the Cats +1 run game isn't going to be nearly as effective without a 6ft 200lb 4.4 unicorn to account for every snap. There's just no way they're going to be able to replicate that kind of season again.

I agree completely. Mellott was the straw that stirred the drink. And he and the Cats improved their passing game last season. He had to be accounted for on every snap, even if he didn't keep the ball nearly as much as prior years. His decision-making and speed were elite.

Facts are great. However, the subject was how UM would do in the MV conference this year. It was not about how UM might have done in the Big Sky in the past. That's all. No big deal.
Yep, and no Griz fan thought they would finish 5th that season either. That's all. No big deal.
