Exactly.Aaron is pretty well set as the passing game coordinator at Michigan State.

He wants to return to The West, he doesn't like the East Lansing area , he's not sure of the current staff's stability and job security, etc.Once again, why would Aaron be interested?
I might have bought a slight chance for that last year, no chance currently. He wants to return to The West, he doesn't like the East Lansing area , he's not sure of the current staff's stability and job security, etc.
You can play the game, " Why would ________ be interested ? " with anyone that is already coaching elsewhere or gainfully employed outside of coaching.
Will never understand why people think being a former Griz player qualifies them to be a coach. We should attempt to hit the best coach we can, regardless of their background. We don’t need an old boys club staff filled with a bunch of washed up players.Sammy Akem!!!!!!!!!!!
OR Marc Mariani!!!
Do you view Akem and Mariani as "washed up"?Will never understand why people think being a former Griz player qualifies them to be a coach. We should attempt to hit the best coach we can, regardless of their background. We don’t need an old boys club staff filled with a bunch of washed up players.
Yep, I look at them as former great GRIZ WR's--probably would make good coaches !!!Do you view Akem and Mariani as "washed up"?

We had better start looking at Tim Hauck, Brent Pease, Justin Green, Travis DeCuire, etc. : all washed-up GRIZ players and we are employing them as coaches ... what's going on here ?
Good thing washed-up GRIZ players Krysko and Wayne Tinkle have already left or we would have to sh_t can them as well !!!
I think either of these guys would be a very solid addition to the team. Both would bring a ton of credibility to the position. They were intelligent players and could definitely understand and teach X's and O's of Pease's offense.Sammy Akem!!!!!!!!!!!
OR Marc Mariani!!!
Agree. BTW thanks for everytime you post the B52 song is in my Head for an hour or soI would imagine this decision was made a while back, as a previous poster said. They waited until someone was in place to release it to the media. Everything will be fine. Routes are still routes, and formations are still formations. You can tell Griz nation is anxious, bored, and ready for the season to start. It's gonna be all right.
It’s better than that dumb Gerardo song.Agree. BTW thanks for everytime you post the B52 song is in my Head for an hour or so![]()
I was joking. Lighten up Francis. It’s better than that dumb Gerardo song.
If you've ever watched one of Sammy's post game breakdowns you wouldn't make such an inane post. Will never understand why people think being a former Griz player qualifies them to be a coach. He has essentially spent the last two years breaking down film on our system and all of our conference opponents. With the veteran staff in place to teach him how to teach, so to speak, he would be a solid addition to the staff. He is also great with people, and would be able to talk to the young receivers very much on their level. If you've ever watched one of Sammy's post game breakdowns you wouldn't make such an inane post.
YesWould you try to bring in Aaron or Robin?
Yes. Haven't seen Mariani on a football field for like 8 years and he has never coached. While Akem is still in the football sphere (sort of), he also does not have any real hirable coaching acumen, especially relative to someone you could go out and pull off another staff somewhere.Do you view Akem and Mariani as "washed up"?
Doing weekly post-game breakdowns for a bunch of fans who don't actually understand X's and O's is quite a bit different that being a D1 coach that has to recruit, coach, watch film, go to practice, attend team meetings, attend position meetings, etc, etc, etc. The amount of people that can accurately breakdown film to a point where they look like an expert is more than you think. I'm not saying he doesn't know what he is doing, because I think his breakdowns are good, but the insinuation that he is a good coaching candidate because of what you have seen in his internet post-game breakdowns makes you look dumb. Lot more to coaching than that.If you've ever watched one of Sammy's post game breakdowns you wouldn't make such an inane post.
You're right that there is a lot more to that, but wouldn't everything you said apply to ANY former college player getting into coaching?Doing weekly post-game breakdowns for a bunch of fans who don't actually understand X's and O's is quite a bit different that being a D1 coach that has to recruit, coach, watch film, go to practice, attend team meetings, attend position meetings, etc, etc, etc. The amount of people that can accurately breakdown film to a point where they look like an expert is more than you think. It would. And the vast majority of them are an analyst/GA for several years before they are apart of the actual on field coaching staff. The switch to the role of coach from player is not as easy as some are making it out to be.You're right that there is a lot more to that, but wouldn't everything you said apply to ANY former college player getting into coaching?
