2. From a 12/20/25 article. Since the article, more players departed or got hurt. Nuce, Klucewich, Otlewski, Rostad (?). The Griz had much of the D to replace, and certainly the starters. Isn't this now needing replace 152 out of 154 starts? That is unprecedented at UM. UM needed to replace a ton on D, and obviously bring in a ton of new D players.
"The Griz will no longer have 13 defensive players who combined for 136 starts out of a potential 154 (88.3%) in the 2024 season. They'll return six defensive players who combined for just 18 starts (11.7%) in the team's 14 games.
Gone are defensive linemen Hayden Harris (14 starts), Pat Hayden (13), Andres Lehrmann (seven) and Noah Kaschmitter (one); linebackers Ryan Tirrell (14), Vai Kaho (14), Riley Wilson (11) and Cooper Barnum (one); cornerbacks Trevin Gradney (14) and Ronald Jackson Jr. (14); and safeties Jaxon Lee (14), Ryder Meyer (11) and Chrishawn Gordon (eight).
Returners who started in 2024 are defensive end Hank Nuce (six starts), safety Jace Klucewich (six), linebacker Caleb Otlewski (two), safety Tyson Rostad (two), nose tackle Jareb Ramos (one) and safety TJ Rausch (one)."
