Moving to the Patriot. CAA continues to fall.
Consequences of having a 20 team conference, the cream is tired of the crap, sounds familiar.Moving to the Patriot. CAA continues to fall.
Ya but the Patriot League? That’s a step down for football. Maybe they’re cutting back on football to focus on academics? This move seems odd.Consequences of having a 20 team conference, the cream is tired of the crap, sounds familiar.
Richmond and Bill & Mary are already making the same move.Ya but the Patriot League? That’s a step down for football. Maybe they’re cutting back on football to focus on academics? This move seems odd.

Sam Herder explained the why pretty well on Nuanez Now yesterday:Consequences of having a 20 team conference, the cream is tired of the crap, sounds familiar.
Won't be after these changes. Most years, the Patriot has had a least one (sometimes two) solid contenders. Now they'll have four or five. Beyond that, these moves make total sense from a rivalries and revenue perspective. Before the CAA went crazy with expansion, these three teams – 'Nova, W&M and Richmond – played each other regularly, which generated a lot of fan excitement and TV interest. With the giant conference, that didn't happen ... the Spiders haven't played Villanova since the 2022 season, and won't play them in 2025. I'm sure not having to split the conference revenue with so many crappy programs is also a big factor. Is it really though?
