Here is the Griz 2025 away game schedule.

10/4 @ Idaho State
10/25 @ Sacramento State
11/1 @ Weber State
11/15 @ Portland State

Considering all things football related, which away game is the best for a Griz fan and why?

I’ve been to those top 3 and I can definitely say they’re all pretty friendly environments for visiting fans. I’m planning to go to Portland State as that’s one of four Big Sky stadiums I haven’t been to yet. If you’re looking for best game though, I would say that’s Sac State.

How is their stadium and game-day atmosphere?

Pretty sure the Viks game is in Providence Park aka Civic Stadium near downtown Portland so you’ll still not have seen their home field which is Hillsboro Stadium 🤮

That said, Providence Park is a great place to watch football…I had the pleasure of watching Oregon State curb stomp the catz there in ‘22

Best for THIS fan will be Idaho State...since I am very likely to be there!

I kinda liked Weber’s stadium. The visiting stands are carved into a mountain which is kinda cool. Plus they just renovated that side of the stadium since I was last there and it looks much nicer.

Idaho State’s is also recently renovated but it’s still a really weird place to watch a game.

Sac State’s stands suck. I swear they’re like old rodeo stands that they moved into the Football stadium, but the one cool and unique thing they have at their stadium that I haven’t really seen anywhere else is they have food trucks behind one end zone. Thought that was kinda cool.

Portland State when they’re able to play in Providence Park is well worth attending. Hence why I’m excited to go.

Im pretty sure Hillsboro was a temporary replacement and in the city is where they’ve historically played I thought.

I've been to Idaho State, Weber State, and Portland State. Of those three, Portland State is probably the best experience, I'd say especially this year since the game is being played in Portland at Providence Park. Weber State is another great environment as well. Idaho State was just "meh".

It was temporary previously but Hillsboro is there current home stadium. They were pushed out of Providence Park after the renovation, which I think was around 2018, to optimize it for soccer.

Always have fun at Sac st. Most years it has been 75% Griz fans in attendance. This year will probably be 75% Hornet fans.
Isu = Temperature controlled and Bengal Fans are fun to talk to.
WSU= Cool setting for stadium but hard to find a beer and tailgates not very good.
Sac st = Always good game. Highschool stadium and tailgates have a ton of weed being smoked (if that is your thing). They do sell beer and my wife loves they have wine for sale at the game.

The away game that I'm looking forward to is the Sac game. There has been so much media hype about this team - going FBS, having a 4 star QB transfer, having the #1 portal recruiting class in FCS, having the best returning RB in FCS to having the next best upcoming FCS FB coach.

I would like to see the Griz dominate this game in the score, the offense, defense and special teams. I've been to their stadium. It is not a visiting fan favorite. The Portland State game at Providence Park is a fan favorite place to watch a game. There will be a lot of Griz fans attending this game.

What makes it the best experience? Just curious.

Watching a game in Providence Park just felt like a "big time" FCS stadium. Big stadium, good seats to watch anywhere, plus bonus of buying beer and being able to drink in the seats (at least I recall being able to do that). Watching a game at Weber State is good as well... although that damn train horn they blast after touchdowns is god-awful haha. Plus the tailgating is kinda non-existent there.

PSU is fun. Easy to fly to. Great city. The Hillsboro stadium isn't great. Always liked the Providence Park, but I think those days ended when professional women's soccer took off in Portland. Griz fans will outnumber PSU fans at this game, which is always fun.

Weber plays well in Ogden when the Griz come to town. This used to not be a place of concern, but Hauck, and Stitt, and Hauck have some losses there. The stadium atmosphere always seems a little flat, like high school 2.0. The homers on the radio talk up all othe local kids on the Weber roster. At one game, a fan won the honor of watching the game in an easy chair positioned behind the goal post.

ISU has problems, starting with the quonset hut they play in. Remember those tube TVs that came with a VCR built in? The VCR would break and then you were stuck with a not so great TV, then DVDs came along, then Blue Ray, then streaming. Bengal stadium is that damn TV, completely outdated and they just can't get rid of it.

Not a big SAC fan, but it's a fun place to be when SAC's playing well and hometeam fans get a little worked up.

Providence is a very nice stadium. Not perfect for football, but better than all but two stadiums in the conference. And yes, you can take beer to your seats.

And the fact that it's right on the light rail downtown in a fantastic city loaded with breweries and great food makes it a must visit.

Sac is good as that can be a pretty fun visit. We're tacking on 4 days in wine country during our visit there this year.
