Grey Zabel

I've been tongue in cheek for most of this, but taking a guard in the first has historically been pretty meh value. For every Quenton Nelson, there are plenty of guys who didn't get a second contract with their team. The plus side is that Guards are cheaper than Tackles, but spending first round capital on a position that only gets marginally better first round performance over players taken later that could've been spent on a more valuable position doesn't make sense, to me.

I do think Zabel is a fantastic OL, though, so maybe they'll get a good one (I hope not lol).

My team also takes the opposite approach of just picking up random guys from bus stops to play guard, so it's not like we're doing any better on that front lol
Under the current CBA drafting cheaper positions earlier is not a positive it negative. Since the rookie contracts are set based on draft position you are better off drafting a position with higher cost if the contracts were free market because you are getting a bigger discount on the rookie contract. 20 years ago when Janikowski went round 1 it was the opposite.

There might be one guy in the country better than him on the OL and he can play multiple positions his talent is undeniable but his versatility is what makes him extra special

Hold on now, according to you and others on this board I'm a bobcat fan, which is it?

Perhaps I'm just a regular fan, that doesn't belong to the circle jerk club that likes to throw the adolescent humor around here for no apparent reason other than to get a "thumbs up" or "laughing face" affirmation.

Nope, you must have him confused with cole grossman..👍
Yes, when there is no reason to even ask the question in the first place.

What would make you question his character?
Look at this chump. In one post he questions a player’s character who is not even the subject of this thread, and in the very next post he jumps down another poster’s throat for asking a question about the player who is the subject of the thread.
Such a lowlife

Grossman has barely played. He played his Freshman and Sophmore season and then was injured/out for the rest. Didn't get enough playing time to garner a reputation of being dirty. Could be Cole Sain you're thinking about.

I completely agree, gaurds are generally not that big of an impact. Go get the best right tackle, corner, defensive end or defensive tackle.

Okay my Seahawks drafted Zabel with the 18th pick, I myself thought it was an over reach and we could have gotten a better guard down the draft, Zabel mostly played Tackle and Seahawks view him as a Guard/Center, what do you guys think of him as a player? Reach or perfect player? Make me feel better about this pick.
Seen him play in person many times. For what it’s worth I think he will be a solid pro.

His teammate from Ndsu quarterback Cam miller gets drafted by the raiders in the 6th round..

That's makes the last FOUR starting qbs at NDSU.to get drafted, not too many other schools can make that claim.

NDSU quarterback u.
Don’t the QBs actually have to be good at the nfl level before they get the QBU moniker? Multiple schools have had guys drafted in consecutive years. Nothing against the kids glad they getting $$$ and the opportunity.

What are the multiple schools that have had four QB's drafted in a row? I'd say that is astounding.

Really, how many other schools have had their last 4 starting qbs. Get drafted?.

If we’re talking FCS only, probably never. One out four as a starter though clearly does not qualify you for QB U. Clipboard U maybe.
