Prospect X

The only part that gives me pause is the line "He repeats that twice on each side, catching each ball his college quarterback sends his way."

Tommy wouldn't have had "his college quarterback." But maybe it is poorly worded and meaning that a college QB was throwing to him, or maybe they just were playing loose with words to not give away that he is a QB transitioning to a new position.

Good Point. I thought of Larrison, but Caldwell, ID doesn't really fit the "historic hometown"

The author is clearly trying to hide the fact that this guy played QB.
I mean....
But as a freshman, X's coaches said he didn't stand out in the way he does now. He was buried on the depth chart, and was trying out a few positions he hadn't played before.

His coaches didn't realize his full potential until the postseason -- when he got a real jump in playing time and became the spark on offense that his team was sorely missing. "I suppose the rest is history," his head coach says.
Also the part where it talks about Vigen having a signed jersey from Josh Allen, who he coached while at Wyoming.
It's clearly Tommy.

Maybe it’s an inside joke cus they know he was really a RB playing QB?
