Sac AD says the quiet part out loud

Oh, they'll still be god awful. But they'll be a wealthy god awful

I think Marion was one of the biggest reasons UNLV improved so drastically the last 2 season, his offense is alot of fun to watch and is effective. With how the Transfer Portal works I would bet having alot of money gives them an advantage more then anything, especially at the FCS/G5 Level.

I kinda like it.
Players who really good go FBS varsity and the players that need playing time to jv.
Sac has potential if they get it right. Big sports town has the nba and close to the Bay Area teams. But not any real college football fbs. ( by what i mean real college football is how good the teams they play against, NFL is best football, the fbs, then jv) I think they could fill 30k stadium easily and with added funds from the community because they have a "real" football team too root for. They might hit it big with the fbs, or they could be Colorado St or Wyoming. Fill the stadium for big games, then not so much for jv games. But still a lot better then 95% of the JV teams.
So Montana plays for the JV national championship. At least it is a national championship.

I mean, he's obviously not wrong.

But it is hilarious that a team who has like a .333 winning percentage in bsc play and has a winning record against two bsc teams (noco and isu :ROFLMAO: ) is bad-mouthing the level.
The SS President Luke Wood must be a total idiot and non-football person. He doesn't even know the name of the division that SS wants to move to. He called FBS (Football Bowl Subdivision) the "football bowl series" and also referred to the Football Champions Series, which should be Subdivision. The President is definitely a JV president.

The SS president is 41. "Dr. Wood served as a professor and administrator, including vice president for Student Affairs and Campus Diversity, at San Diego State before becoming Sac State president. He has authored 16 books and published significant research focusing on racial inequality issues in education."

Actually their AD hasn’t said one word about any of this. Their egotistical president has him so muzzled that he hasn’t even posted on Twitter in months. Deep down I think Mark Orr knows Sac State is making a big mistake but Frat President Wood doesn’t care. He’s willing to bankrupt their school cause he has that never wrong mentality. Guys insane.

FCS has the playoff football model that the big schools wish they adopted. Seed the teams & the better seed gets a home game. FBS is still too stupid/greedy to do this for a full playoff. That is hardly JV. The JV statement is understandable for many others because a majority of FCS teams are shit and have no fan base. We are part of the fortunate few.

FBS is not interested in a 24 team playoff. 12 is a better number.

SS has a JV president who oversees a JV football program, as you said. This is what he did to prepare for leading SS to FBS glory: “vice president for Student Affairs and Campus Diversity” at San Diego St.

Tell that to Cal and Stanford. The problem Sac St has is no one cares, either you need a very active alumni with passion for the move, a schedule that instills interest in the area you play in, a event environment that attracts new fans because its either the best or the only event. In the college football arena capturing lightning in the bottle isn't as easy as saying "I want to play with the big boys".

I think what he's getting at though is the CFP should be played on campuses until the championship, just like FCS. I too like the 12 team format they're using, but they gotta move on from the New Years 6 bowl games and the neutral sites.

I don’t understand why some of you object to the JV description for FCS football as it is Junior to FBS football. Maybe B League would be better. I will cheer for the Griz if they are designated NAIA, but i think it is importsnt to accept that Griz football competes in a lower division until we are FBS—if ever.

What was wrong with what I said? I said I like the CFP format, but I think it would just be way cooler to see all the games on campus like they are in the first round. There's just no energy at a neutral site.

I think it has more to do with a school that couldn't even find sustained success at the "JV" level thinks that becoming a FBS independent somehow makes them a 'varsity' level athletic department. With certainty, it is apparent that Sac St has a "JV" level President.

To reply to why would anyone start attending Sac st game and start following a program.
When you start putting money into a program and start promoting it. It will draw more people.
Why did the griz rise up in the late 80s and become a power in fcs? IMO it was because we built a new stadium, hired a new coach who put a fun team to watch on the field and university promoted the shit out of the griz.
If they do the same in sac and be competitive in the g5. They will to better off in the future.

This is the teams that moved up and I bet none of them would ever want to be in fcs again.
James Madison, liberty, Texas st, coastal Carolina, app st, southern Georgia, western Kentucky, UMass, Utsa, Georgia st, old dominion, Charlotte and now missouri st and Delaware st.
Not saying all of them are winning constantly, but I bet 90% are selling more tickets, have larger enrollment, have more national relevance and are a lot better teams then when they left the fcs. A lot of these teams hardly made the playoffs constantly and we're not dominating the fcs besides app st and James Madison
