Pro Day is April 3rd and 8 guys are participating. Good luck to all! Go Griz!
I hadn't heard that. Why on earth did they say no?!It's a shame that the NFL wouldn't let Clifton McDowell participate.
I hadn't heard that. Why on earth did they say no?!
He posted a picture of an email from someone in the NFL player personnel department, and their reasoning seems to be that since he graduated from McNeese in Louisiana, and UM is not an FBS school, he wouldn’t be allowed to attend a pro day in Montana.I hadn't heard that. Why on earth did they say no?!
That's so ignorant. Throughout all of this, Clif has kept his head up and always given love to Missoula and the Griz. That kid has been kicked in the teeth so many times in the last few years and just keeps getting up and moving forward. I hope that I raise children as classy and resilient as he is.
They're adding to the list of stupid $hit they have opinions on... and really shouldn't matter as what are they going to do, has no eligibility left? Unless they are threatening the school....Why in holy hell would the NCAA care a whit where someone participated in pro day?
WTF?

Good to see Fontes and Ostmos healthy enough to do this. Both of their injuries looked pretty bad.Pro Day is April 3rd and 8 guys are participating. Good luck to all! Go Griz!
It's not the NCAA. It's the NFL that won't allow him to participate.I fail to understand why the NCAA would have ANY authority to stop ANYONE from doing their pro day anywhere they fucking want, as long as the school is ok with it?
I mean, NONE of the kids have eligibility left, they're not students, so WTF?
To be honest, I don't see why the NFL has that authority either. The school is putting on a pro day and inviting scouts. I don't understand the possible logic and reasoning for them to even care where he does his pro day, though I get that I'm biased AF on this one. It's not the NCAA. Yeah, I don't get it, either, but the person references some unknown (and seemingly un-Googleable) rule that he would be breaking by being from Texas and having graduated in Louisiana as disqualifying for the Montana pro day.To be honest, I don't see why the NFL has that authority either. Yet Pro-Day was already planned and no additional expenses would be incurred as the teams who want to attend had already planned on doing so... control of expenses makes sense if this was in addition to other days but doesn't seem to be the case... my guess is is that the regional scout network doesn't want the potential candidates leaving, more like protecting exclusive sales territory. It is my assumption that the NFL is trying to help control expenses for the teams in the league and limit the NCAA holding the number of Pro Days. It is this older general rule why this action is taking place. This also allows the NFL in talking points to say they are helping the teams in the league.
Yes, but he graduated from Montana.Didn't Overthrowper participate in UM's pro day after he transferred to Oregon? He wasn't from Montana.
He did?? In what? The Science of Lack of Effort?Yes, but he graduated from Montana.
That's not very montana nice of you. Whatever happened to once a griz always a griz?He did?? In what? The Science of Lack of Effort?
