Spring ball?

I went to a bit of practice last week, I'd say a ton to be encouraged a out. Jensen can definitely spin it. The flowers kid can spin it too. KAY didn't get many reps (if any), my assumption was they were wanting the others to get reps, as he was suited up and parriciparing in calls and actively engaged with Pease.

We will be pleasantly surprised with our receiving group, many good players. Running back crew as advertised. I tried to get an eye on as many of the transfers as I could, several popped. Most notably harper. Stout dude that can move. Also like the looks of several of the db transfers... the juco Hawaii kid is tough, deizel is a player, and some of the redshirt frosh will be studs, Kash G, Parker.

Intensity level was on point, coaching staff in mid season form, bobby both highly positive, and chewed the shit out of some, most notably those he deemed to be soft.

Phen coaching up o line, we'll see how it comes along. Some great, some not so great. My hope is we hit a homerun with our coaching hire at that position, one we can bring in a couple key transfers.

It was my first time being inside the bubble, such a great facility. Obviously a permanent structure would be ideal, but being inside, there's a ton of room and size. Kids were kicking etc. Punts Obviously a problem, but I can't imagine a permanent practice structure having ample punting room. Hell, punts sometimes hit the roof at the holt arena in pokey.

Overall, I'm enthused and optimistic. Yes, I usually am, but we've got lots to be enthused about on this squad, and I think our incoming freshman class is stout too 💪💪💪💪💪

Well if that's true, he definitely doesn't stay anywhere very long. Which is a concern, was he fired from those jobs or quit? Hopefully not toxic. One positive would be he has to have a lot of connections.
He was with Kennesaw state last year and I think they had the worst FBS offense out of 134 FBS teams, I hope he proves us wrong but I’m not feeling really good about this hire.

I know nothing about the guy, but Kennesaw state's lack of production shouldn't alarm us. They weren't dominant at fcs level and probably shouldn't have moved up (from a competitive stand point). Again, I'm hoping we hit a home run, or at minimum a B+ with this particular hire!

Well to be fair there probably weren’t a lot of options this late in the offseason so the fact that we got anyone with this much experience I think is a positive. Plus he was only at KSU one year so I’m not sure how much blame he deserves for that in a first year FBS transition. And Kennesaw runs the triple option which is notorious for having low scoring offenses.

Norcross has huge experience and would be a great-get. Before Kennesaw:

"Cameron Norcross joins UNLV after four seasons in the SEC as offensive line coach for Vanderbilt. He went to Nashville after serving four years at Fresno State that included three bowl trips, including the Bulldogs’ 11-2 season in 2013 that ended with a Las Vegas Bowl appearance. Previously, Norcross served an 11-year stint at his alma mater, UNR, helping the Wolf Pack to seven consecutive bowl appearances from 2005-11. Starting his coaching career as a GA there, he was hired as the tight ends and co-offensive line coach in 2003 and was promoted to run-game coordinator and OL coach in 2010."

At Fresno: "Cameron Norcorss is in his fourth season at Fresno State serving as the Bulldogs' offensive line coach. He was hired on Jan. 20, 2012.

Norcross' lines have been the backbone of the offensive explosion at Fresno State. They have allowed the Bulldogs to put up 500 or more yards of offense 18 times and also scored 40 or more points 18 times over the past three seasons. The highlight there was a school record 822 yards of offense in a 2013 69-28 win over New Mexico."

They moved away from the triple option in their FBS transitional year, they ran a "Multiple" style offense it looks like from some quick glimpses on YouTube highlights:

Good pickup on short notice.

"Norcross comes to UMHB after a season at Kennesaw State University, where he helped the Owls to the first two Football Bowl Subdivision in program history. Norcross coached at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas from 2020-21 as the Rebels' offensive line coach, securing the second-highest rated recruiting class in the Mountain West Conference."
