Pat Mahomes against just about anybody?Randy Moss vs Griz
The BH that I know is not the BH I see in the press conferences. Personally, he's very interactive, funny, respectful and never talks down. He recalls and reflects on previous interactions. As a HC and a leader we could not hope for a more quality person. But like most others, I cringe at the press conferences; he does not want to be there and makes no effort to appear otherwise. It's a shame.Travis is great with media/public. Class vs ass comes to mind in this area.
I remember when I was in the marching band in college 18 years ago, I ran into Bobby in the Oval on a gameday on my way to the stadium for morning rehearsal while Bobby was heading to the team breakfast in the Lommasson Center. Bobby went out of his way to say hi to me with a big grin and a brief chat. That made a huge impression on me that he is 100% a different person, in person, than what you see when he interacts with the media. The guy is down-right down to earth 99% of the time when it's not involving the media. The BH that I know is not the BH I see in the press conferences. Maybe because for "most people", the only public Bobby we see is the asshat at the press conferences?I've never known Bobby other than sitting at a table at the QB club and him coming around. I ran into him in the Missoula airport well before sunrise not long ago, and when I walked by I said hi to him. I was in Griz gear, and he sat there and chatted my ear off. I kept trying to go because I didn't want to be annoying when he is just trying to get on the plane, and he kept asking where I was going, made some food recommendations, told me how much he loves certain foods there. Between the QB Club, hearing Colter talking about him, and that interaction, I was really left with the impression that he just puts on a press conference front. He was gregarious and kind. I genuinely don't get why people love to hate him so much.
Agreed. They are just being themeselves. You can tell Travis enjoys the interaction with the media more. Bobby is kinda Belichick like with the media. I think his humor is kinda dry and people don’t know how to take him. But Bobby in person is pretty personable. And yet somehow they both end up being the winningest coaches in UM history in their sport. Weird.....
Lol, well put and "just spitballin'" got a chuckle. He's a lot more jovial and fun during things like the Coaches show or the Griz Den, too. So those are other avenues for folks who aren't local and don't want to pay to join the QB club.Maybe because for "most people", the only public Bobby we see is the asshat at the press conferences?
I don't know...just spitballin' here...
What's weird is that that attitude has rubbed off on other coaches you wouldn't expect it from (Like Green).Lol, well put and "just spitballin'" got a chuckle. I get that he doesn't do himself favors with the demeanor in press conferences, I'm not denying that. There are other avenues to see him without that cold facade, though.
Hope that doesn't increase. What's weird is that that attitude has rubbed off on other coaches you wouldn't expect it from (Like Green).
I think it's in his contract.Hope that doesn't increase.
I known people want to hear from the HC. But, I often wondered why BH doesn't put his coordinators front and center more. If he hates the whole circus...he has supporting staff that do some of it.
I also think he wants to control the message. Doesn’t want to put a gabby, friendly coach out there on the dais who answers questions he’d rather not be answered.I think it's in his contract.
Funny as hell comparing Bobby to BB.Agreed. They are just being themeselves. You can tell Travis enjoys the interaction with the media more. Bobby is kinda Belichick like with the media. I think his humor is kinda dry and people don’t know how to take him. But Bobby in person is pretty personable.
I’m comparing his disdain for the press. Nothing else.Funny as hell comparing Bobby to BB.
Reasonable minded people understood you.I’m comparing his disdain for the press. Nothing else.
To say that Randy Moss single-handedly beat the Griz that day is incorrect. That was the most stacked FCS team the Griz have ever played (perhaps even without Moss), with future NFL players all over the roster, including QB and RB. Take Moss away and they were still incredible but so were the Griz. It's not a stretch to say that he may have been the difference that day but Marshall was FAR from being a one-player team. All of that said, Randy Moss was the greatest football player the Griz have ever played. One of the most athletic freaks to ever play football at any level, ever.Randy Moss vs Griz
There are only 2 other players I've watched that gave me similar feelings when I saw them live.To say that Randy Moss single-handedly beat the Griz that day is incorrect.
