Pawlak?

You seem really emotionally invested in this.
From what I saw I liked him a lot. I am NOT pleased he left. If it was for better money and that was the only reason so be it. At the level you are talking we could have at least matched it .I just am not buying it that it was about money. No one has said that so far. The other thing is he was removed as a coach from the Griz website and so far there has been no comment from the University. Which as fans I think we deserve at least that much.

As I posted earlier in this thread - Pawlak is replacing an OL coach who is headed for the NFL. It doesn't take a genius to figure out that not only will the $ be better but if the last guy was able to get noticed and hired by the NFL, then maybe Western Mich is a good place for a young quality coach to be if he wants to keep moving up the ladder of success.
I have no insider knowledge but this seems like simple common sense.

Who could ever decide to take a job in Michigan paying probably $150k per, w half the median home price as missoula when He's making $40k in missoula w a $575k median home price. He must hate bobby and the program!
Is that really what the OL coach makes here? If so.... sheesh.

Western Michigan puts him in ponds the Griz coaches don't swim (fish) in...moving up and into those ponds is what most young, driven coaches aspire to.

We don't see it as often as other top-tier FCS teams. When we do it surprises many...I don't know why because it is self evident.

If an O line coach makes under $80k in Missoula, then Hauck better rethink his entire approach to hiring. He has done a good job getting guys who are financially secure due to their age and experience. Now he probably has to go the other route and get the up and coming graduate students who have the experience as a former player. Expect no more than three years and then they are gone. I don’t envy the position he and other coaches are in. Unless you have a program with deep pockets, prepare to ride the roller coaster of coaches and players. Will be interesting to see what happens with fan bases and ticket sales over time as well.

One of the stories going around about Hauck's re-negotiation last time, when it seemed like it was being hashed out and taking a little bit of time, was that he was pushing for higher pay for the assistant coaches. I'm sure partly for the competitive reason you state, as well as just knowing how hard it would be to make it work on that kind of money in Missoula.

Also, you should see what some of the position coaches are making at NAIA schools in Montana. I was talking to one a few years back, and with the hours he puts in I'm absolutely sure he was coming in under minimum wage if broken down hourly. Being a young coach can be a rough lifestyle.

But you need to PROVE IT! I'm not going to add any proof to my assertion other than, there has to be something else! /sarcasm 😉🤣

NAIA -interesting you would bring that up. I thought they were irrelevant ?

I'm not relitigating this. You said that we should be playing a Montana NAIA team on the schedule every year, and I told you why that was an asinine idea that helps nobody. When a separate conversation comes up about how much coaches are paid, and I say "it is even worse in the NAIA," that really has nothing to do with scheduling them to play us except to show, again, how far below the Griz that the programs in the NAIA are.

You're dealing with a retard, Elrod. I wouldn't waste the energy.

Wrong answer. The correct response would have been “You’re irrelevant”.
