LadyGriz LG versus MSU Bobcats

I was also really impressed with how the ladies stayed the course and didn’t really panic and let things snowball too bad after going cold offensively, turning the ball over or having defensive breakdowns.

Testament to those ladies and the remaining staff because there were quite a few points in the game where the cats could have ran away with it and the Ladies didn’t let them.

I think if Waddington attempted to shoot the ball immediately upon catching the pass there would have been a call as that is when there was contact. She didn't sell it to the refs well enough maybe.
 
Congratulations to the Lady Griz. Sure I wanted the win but that is the best defense that I have seen them play this year. It reminded me somewhat of the Lady Griz of old with their effort and their camaraderie. If we could reduce the unforced turnovers and missed layups hope burns eternal for this team. They could be a force to be reckoned with come tournament time.

It was a good no call. I was 2 rows up behind that basket with a really good view of it. She had a clean look. Honestly I think she makes it if she just catches and shoots instead of coming back down and up. I mean she had it when she caught the ball. I knew that shot was going in. Then got excited when she didn't take it on the jump.

Great seats. I really enjoyed being there for my first basketball game in the Adam's. I love sitting right behind the basket.

Both teams had chances to take the win. Griz had shots that should've fallen. Cats had shots they should've made. KJ was hammered a couple times on no calls. Griz are going to be a tough out for someone at the Tournement. Harris has them playing. Konig and Bruno are good players.

The end was weird. When the miss happened I expected the griz to foul right away and everyone was standing around like they were surprised it was over.

Thanks for your input. Glad you had a great time. Feels like it has been a minute for a close game between these two programs where it came down to a final possession. You going to the men’s game tonight?

No. I debated but I wasn't sure what the roads were going be when I bought my ticket. I suppose it's a possibility since it's still a couple hours away. But I'm leaning towards heading back to Butte.

It was a great game. I’ve had those seats a couple games and it seemed like I was always looking around the camera guy.
 
Great game Lady Griz. Only NAU came this close to Cats and LG looked more collected than NAU did in 4th quarter of that game and they train at 7000 feet! The athleticism on both teams was outstanding. The announcers need to give up on saying Chirrick is the best female athlete in the State when we are looking at at least 5 totally on par with her. Especially Dani Bartsch. One smooth operator she is. Notice how her rebounds almost always clean and uncontested? Can’t wait till next rivalry game.

Yah, I thought some of that was Waddington a little off base for the play, but I thought there might have been room to call foul on the defender. Avery, looks to be a go to player for those cutting moves, good ball control, and touch for scoring capacity in traffic. Inside/outside scoring threat, you can't ask for more!!
 
Re-watched the finish a couple of times. First, the call against Waddington was nonsense against Morales. Waddington was holding position and Morales jumped into her from underneath the basket. The D has every right to their own space.

Second, Allezchat was right on the no call on Waddington at the end. Annoying that they would call Waddington for the foul on Morales, but not call it there though. If Waddington went for the tip in, I think a whistle blows because there is contact, but she came down and went back up.

Hopefully a harbinger of things to come the rest of the year for the LG.
 
Waddington is a stud, on defence on offense 17 points in the 4th. She played like she refused to lose. The LG, all of them played a great game, great defence. Bruno was being Bruno Absolutely awesome effort, Dani found her self, keep it up, this team is going in the right direction on defense the offense will come. 0 for 6 to start unfortunate, but keep shooting and play fast. This team is going to do great things the second half of the season.

Actually, EWU (2 Points), UM (1 Point) and Idaho (3 Points in Bozeman) all had closer games VS MSU than NAU (6 Points)... I think that UM did a Fantastic job of moving the ball from inside out, and then around. MSU really struggled to catch up to the passes, and that is what led to some BIG buckets from the outside. I have only watched about 3 UM games other than this one, but I have not seen them move the ball like that in the other games.

🤓stand corrected. UM looked better than all of the above mentioned MSU opponents, as far as conditioning , in 4th quarter.

I don't think it was conditioning that was better, I think it was their movement on offense was better in this game. 1/2 of the UM Conference games the Lady Griz were outscored (or tied in scoring) in the 4th quarter. They caught momentum against the Cats in the 4th, and played like they knew they could win.
