GFP - if you could ask the athletic dept one question, what would it be?

It's very common for golf clubs to have junior memberships (usually for those under 40) with the monthly dues somewhere around 50-75% of the standard senior membership. QBC could probably catch some younger folks earlier if they let them join for $500 until they get to 40 years old.
That's brilliant!

Do they receive all the benefits of the full membership?

That’s super cool man! I’m always happy for people who find happiness. Finding that someone you realize you wanna spend the rest of your life with is an awesome feeling. If we make it up there this summer, we’ll have to go on a double date😁.
Thank you, it really is! And we absolutely will have to, that sounds like an awesome evening for us!

....well now I feel really fu-king old. Thanks guys.
Raider...if you ARE old, denying won't change shit. Admit it, embrace it, live with it. Everyone else knows it. "Your not a kid anymore, your not a kid anymore." -- Marci Blane, 'Bobby's Girl' (1962).

Wanted to thank everyone who posted, we used a lot of the general themes around these questions for our next pod - which we recorded today! It'll be live later this evening hopefully!
If you didn’t get to the 1989 Cadillac Brogham d’Elegance question, I’ll understand. 😉😉
I burned the only one I came across. Thing was a fortress.

Badlands - one thing I'd say is that your perception could be of just more local QB club members and those with time on Monday evenings to attend. Yeah the group is older but that's not even 1/3 of the total QB club and many that are remote or have family / work / etc events in the evenings zoom in instead. A lot of younger UM grads / fans are spread out across the region and opt for remote over in person.

I would venture the average age of all QB club members is pretty high though, no denying that.
The "remote" option has been mentioned by several on this thread...I'm curious for those who do that on how the experience is? Easy to log in? Tech difficulties? Can you hear and see what's going on?

This is actually a great idea.

It’s super easy. It’s just a zoom call. You see everything they see at the meeting in person.

Only downside is that sometimes it a little difficult to hear the questions from the crowd. But it works very well. Totally worth it.

I’m also in Texas in the metroplex. It’s the only way I’ve attended for 3 years. Haha.

Thanks for the insight!

Before the Q&A, there is a very detailed tape breakdown by Hauck. Covers some highlights/lowlights of the previous game, and what to expect from the upcoming opponent. Those come across REALLY well on Zoom and they have a great system for it. That portion can actually be much more clear on the zoom rather than in person, depending on what seating you're at if you go in person.

I've opted for remote at times as well, even though I'm local.

This last year they really stepped their game up. New camera, new interactive board for Bobby as well. When they go to Q&A they have a roaming mic so those online can hear the question and then Bobby's response.

Yeah, they absolutely MUST repeat the questions for those of us watching online.

They usually get "some" of the privileges but not all. Varies by club...but it still makes it attractive given the cost break...
I purchased memberships for myself and my son, since he’s in med school and doesn’t have the disposable income. It gives us some great father-son time centered around one of our favorite passions. I’m extremely thankful for the remote option, without it QB Club wouldn’t be an option as I live in PST and he in EST.

Really pulling for women's wrestling, if that is the case. There is a real opportunity to get out ahead of other schools by fielding a team, and Montana is developing a decent pipeline of young women's wrestlers.
Hypothetically, if UM were to move up to FBS and we needed to add a Women's sport, what would they add? I have a couple things in mind but would be curious if they'd thought about this at all.
Thought this was interesting. I'm waiting for a bill to come up in the legislature for my workplace, and was checking out the Senate agenda when I saw this was coming up for a vote on the floor today:

"SJ7 Joint resolution to support shooting competition as a collegiate sport" Fuller-Kalispell

The NCAA calls it Rifle. I don't think there's a hell of a lot of schools that offer Rifle, but this feels like a natural fit in Montana. Plus it's a relatively small team of only 10 athletes. If we needed to add a women's sport this could make sense from a numbers and funding perspective. I would've never thought of this as an option. They could use the shooting range out in Bonner for practice and this really wouldn't be that hard to fund. Just thought it was interesting that this popped up today after we were having this conversation on Friday lol.

It has quite the bipartisan support too. It passed out of the Senate Education Committee on a 14-0 vote.

That's great. It also could be a pathway to Olympic competition for Montana athletes, which is also just a really fun bonus.
