2025 gogriz Roster Notable Missing Players

Oh man, not sure how I missed him. I will add him. Hoping this list doesn't grow. It is part of the process. I think we are going to see some adds this summer. Although, I counted 76 rostered players, 17 HS signings, and 17 Portal signings which brings the roster total to 106. If the 105 rostered player limit that we are expecting is accurate does that mean we lose one more player? I would also imagine that since we had/have some offers on the table, we still have scholarships available for this spring/summer when the portal reopens and teams make their final adjustments for next season.
I'm still a bit confused on how the 105 roster limit is going to play out. I saw another poster on here say that UM is now not going to opt in to that deal. Regardless I agree we should have a little bit of wiggle room to get a few more pick ups in the spring/summer portal

I would also imagine that after spring camp there will be some hard conversations with a few people. A few more spots will likely open up. That's just how it goes.

He got what he deserved which to tell the truth was not enough. Lets hope he entered the portal and went to the cats which would be the proper team for him.
You and your obsession need a permanent vacation. Only then will you get what you deserve.

He adds far more intelligent and relevant information than you ever can. Plus he clearly lives rent free in your head

Not many Montana kids left on the team. How many new Montana kids coming in? Two? My guess is we will lose more with some of the transfers they are bringing in.

I am of the belief that there will be fewer Montana high school players recruited by both UM/MSU. With the portal, the process has changed and it is more about accumulating talent and less about recruiting the raw project type. The path for Montana kids is going to a NAIA school, and UM/MSU will start to recruit them like they used to recruit high schools.

You could be right, Helena--never thought I would say that !!! Hunter Kent of Carroll and Ryder Rice from Rocky here in Billings could be the leading edge of what you're describing
and it makes sense--if FBS is going to use FCS as a quasi-farm system, the ripple effect would have us doing the same with Div. II and The Frontier Conference, NAIA !!! And look how many kids we successfully recruited this year from especially Div. II--4 student athletes. I think studs from Div.. II and NAIA will rival the kids transferring from FBS now and in the years to come !!!

That could very well be the case. However, both UM and MSU have excelled with Montana kids, who tend to stay rather than transfer. Additionally, MSU has signed 10 Montana kids for the 2025 season vs UM only signing 2.

I think there will be ebb and flow in the signing of Montana kids, with The Shi##y Kitties signing more one or two years in a row and like a tennis volley, then back to us.

I do think our coaches continue to hit the Montana interstates and highways hard in their recruiting in addition to the phones, social media, etc. Thus, we recruit Bridger Savevold from Culbertson, a 9 hour drive and 650 miles east of Missoula on the ND border.

I do think recruiting Montana high-school kids has changed at least somewhat AP, After Portal as we have less reliance on them than we did BP, Before Portal.

There is a couple more of you that needs to go away and then we would have a far better site.

That may well be the case moving forward. But judging by our title game team 2 years ago, and especially MSU's title game team this year -- recruiting Montana kids still IS accumulating talent. Wasn't Montana kid Junior Bergen UM's best player this year and an all-timer?

The Griz just haven't been able to land the best ones for a bit here, for whatever reason. And obviously the portal players didn't hit last year, exacerbating the issue. But hopefully it is just cyclical and we can start landing some of these Montana kids that Boston College, Nebraska, Boise State, Kentucky, Boise State (and whichever nationally elite program Matt Ludwig picks) haven't seemed to think are NAIA raw project types the last couple years.

I never said there wasn't talent in Montana. Things have changed significantly in the past 2 years. UM will never get the high school kids that have offers from Boston College, Nebraska, Boise St etc. You sure are twisting what I stated.
