Like I said, you don’t know much about Griz football. I have never claimed to be some big expert on football. I don’t care to be and don’t need to be. I get most of my info from coaches (current and former), former players, some current players, current and former parents, and various other knowledgeable people. I rarely say something about the team without knowing or being quite confident that what I am saying is correct. I had assumed you were not connected to the program but might be following Gillman. About a year ago, I told Green how much the family wanted to have Monte to have the opportunity to play at UM with his brother. A few last things, I don’t need to be a big football expert to know more about football and the Griz than all but a dozen or so people posting regularly on the board. I support the team and the players. Prior head coaches have thanked me in the past for the internet support. Assistant coaches have occasionally asked me about egriz things or to correct something or put something out there. I will try to be more careful with you, and you might consider the same with me. As I have said on the board, I have lots of Minneapolis connections. I once lived there. I was a longtime partner at one of the 2 biggest Minneapolis law firms for decades, am good friends with former Viking Ed Marinaro, and am good friends with Brian O’Neill of the Vikes. His dad is one of my best friends. Have been to 2 Suoer Bowls in Minneapolis. I like Minnesota. One of my former law partners played for the Golden Gophers. Loved his stories. No I was not a bench warmer I played almost every down for 3 years. I did only play about a third of the plays as a freshman.
You can certainly puff out your chest and tell me that coaching junior high is not cutting it. I whole heartedly agree. I stated that I played in the early 2000’s and coached until 2012 in The Big Ten.
After a becoming a father I have pursued other opportunities and then I did help with my son’s team in Junior High and his first years of high school. You tell many a poster that they don’t know the game.
I have stated that the game has and is constantly evolving/changing.
Congrats on that 3 of your kids were able to play college athletics. Furthermore that two of your kids were able to play college football.
I don’t think I stated that you know nothing about the game of football. I have stated that maybe or probably there are people that do more than you do about the game of football.
Your current Griz coach has been very successful in the FCS. What was his record when he coached in the FBS? From what I have found he was 15-49, for a winning % of .234 with the lower level of the big conferences. He does have a very respectable even remarkable winning percentage in the FCS at .771.
I joined this board not too argue with an obvious fan of Griz football, but to see what the Minnesota boy, Gilman, was going to do going forward. I think that it is great in the current state of college football that he is going to stay at Montana.
I also think that if he does have aspirations of playing in the NFL that he may need to transfer for his senior season. His numbers against the better defensive teams in the FCS are not very good, especially when you remove the game against Tennessee State.
Everyone on this board knows that you like to cherry pick statistics and you will continue to do so moving forward.
You also have not refuted the fact that you don’t have any evidence that one single person would ever cross a room to piss on you if you were on fire.
