Saban on negative fans

He retired formany reasons.

“Nick Saban retired from coaching at Alabama primarily due to his concerns about the changing landscape of college football, including the evolving player behavior, the impact of Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) rules, and a growing sense that player motivations were shifting away from pure team play towards individual financial gain, causing him to feel he could no longer effectively coach the way he wanted to; he also cited age and health considerations as factors in his decision to step down.”

It says a lot about him. He loved it when they were paying his salary.
I don't think Alabama players were suffering. How come you never hear anything but complete respect from all his former players? So every coach prior to NIL were the "masters"? It is interesting those on here that take exception to his comments.

maybe he should talk about the players who could not control themselves and got into fights on the field. Suppose that's the fans fault? Give me a break . He is paid to say this crap. Maybe he should go in the basement and tell this to the walls in his under ware. It's the fans whom have paid his and the players way. Seems like he forget that part.
Having a bad Day?...Week?...Month?...Year? You sure seem grouchy.

He never loved the negative or bad fans. Like you.
The only thing Saban loved was thinking he was a slave owner and could treat people any way he wanted. If any of us talked to our employees the way he did or how BH did with Fife, you would fired. Saban didn't like NIL because it leveled the playing field to do what Alabama had been under the table.

I suspect he probably retired because once the NCAA old boys network lost control, the things that had given Alabama and the rest of the old guard their advantages were gone. Now every team could pay their players, you couldn't make an 18 year old (who can't legally buy a beer) your indentured servant for 5 years, and expanded conferences meant you might have to play road games in unfamiliar locations.

As to what Saban said; maybe he's right, maybe he isn't. Personally; having to be a Bobcats season ticket holder or watching any football pre, post, or halftime show are equal rings of hell.

You don’t have employees anymore, old-timer. I’ll have one of the orderlies wheel you to lunch now.

Perhaps Saban is implying that coaches should not be criticized? Not Ryan Day, Brent Vigen, Bobby, or whomever. I respectfully disagree. On second thought, can the 'respectfully.'

Hes talking about negative fan chatter towards players and the team in general. His whole point is these kids see and hear it all given social media ect in todays world. He says it's totally unproductive to the task at hand and team in general. I agree with him.

Almost? I did, and read the quotes. I had to check out his bio afterwards, wondering WHY the anger? Got more than I bargained for. I'm about three months OLDER than he, but he was born on Halloween. 🙈🙉🙊
And, he doesn't show his age, like I do. Spooky. 😱🤣

Pretty obvious by the replies that it is easy to separate those that have coached or were part of a department and supported the coaching staff and those that are never-been blowhards that want to think they know everything.
