During the Buckeyes' rout of Tennessee in the first round of the College Football Playoff, Herbstreit voiced his support for Day while taking a dig at the "lunatic fringe" fans that were calling for his job.

"The lunatic fringe at Ohio State is as powerful as anywhere in the country. It used to be eight to 10, I think it's grown now to about 15 to 20. Another ESPN dipshit. Calls out Indiana but refuses to mention the poor showing by Tennessee. Day is on his way out as soon as he loses. His continual loses to Michigan has caught up. Harbaugh's quote about Day last year is priceless: "Some people standing on third bases think they hit a triple and they didn't."

Herbstreit and Saban know a zillion percent more than you. They actually accomplished something, including in football. You got nothing but a big dumb mouth behind a keyboard.

He literally complained about Indiana not deserving to be in the Playoff while pimping the SEC despite Tennessee getting wrecked worse by OSU.
