2025 Transfer Thread/ Portal Offers-- (31) Transfers to UM

One thing to keep in mind here is that 9 out of 10 offers to a transfer do not get reported anywhere. You will see some of them, but most transferring players don't play the same way as they did coming out of HS. You may not even here about a commitment until they have signed a financial agreement. I believe that they can do that at any time, so they could enter for the spring winter/semester. They could also be hanging out in the portal well into the spring. I'm not sure if there is a deadline for signing or not.

Kale Edwards
‘23 Montana 35tk 10.5tfl 4.5sk 2ff
‘24 NMSU 35tk 6.0tfl 4.0sk

Wondering how much this helped his draft stock. If the scouts went to the La Tech game where he got all 4 of his sacks for the season, then maybe.

That Visperas may be better than both Fife and Ah Yat, and either Fife or Ah Yat should have been deemed as the definitive QB1 at some point during the season.
Visperas is better. I am of the belief that Ah Yat was their number 1, but he got hurt and Fife lit up EWU and forced them to start him again. Then Ah Yat got hurt again and they had to start Fife again.

As I have said, he finished the season with 0 tackles, and 2 tackles in each of the last 3 games. So, 6 tackles in 4 games. No sacks and no TFL's. He got 2 TFL's in the whole season other than his 4 sacks in the one game. I think he continued to start, but didn't check every game.

UM is 113 in Sagarin 7th in FCS in Sagarin now. NMS is 168. 3 of UM losses are to teams above it in Sagarin. Portland St and Weber are the 2 teams just below NMS. EWU is 140th. He had more than 2 tackles in 4 games, and 0 sacks in those games. I can't imagine that these stats helped his draft stock. Of course, how he looked and actually played would be more important than his stats. He had worse sacks this year for a much weaker team. The NMS SOS was 121, so that was pretty good and above UM.

....man didn't see that one coming but he is a talented player...
I'm sure he's got FBS desires and maybe the NFL or other..
wish him well....

Defense just lost their best player and its not even close
Returning LB’s
40 Cooper Barnum Sr 6’2” 222
31 Geno Leonard RSr 5’11” 228
38 Marcus Evans RJr 6’0” 226
59 Hayden Opitz RSo 6’2” 214
52 Cy Stephenson RSo 6’2” 201
58 Clay Oven RSo 6’2” 210

Not sure on Coopers eligibility. He played baseball at Wash St in ‘21 and ‘22 and football here in ‘23 and ‘23. I don’t know baseballs redshirt rules but he only played in 2 games as a Fr. It’s possible he may be eligible for one more year.

Kaho? Different sports don’t get aggregated, I recollect.

Not a single player there that moves the needle.

Isn't Otlewski a LB? He's now the defacto best LB on the team.
