Is he better now than Ah Yat when he playing hesitant? With one foot out the door?
True bad math on my part. But he is playing hesitant and not with the fire and emotion he played with earlier. If he letting all know that he is gone how can he lead?

And by going with Ah Yat, you will forego any chance to win the game because SDSU will know that he doesn't throw the ball very well, load the box, our one-dimensional offense will sputter at best, game over !!!

Your wrong, Helena--if we put the kid that can't throw very well behind center, I am pretty confident the SDSU DC doesn't decide out of the blue to play nickel--just in case !!! He is going to load the box, game over !!!

They are loading the box either way. Fife hasn't thrown well in weeks and the OL is terrible. Against the Griz offense, it all happens within 10 yds of the LOS.
They're going to do this regardless because Fife also hasn't shown the ability to beat good defenses by throwing the ball, either.
You have a short memory.
Name a good defense he has beaten with his arm.
He has 3 of his 14 passing TDs and 708 of his 1885 passing yards all season against teams I'd consider good on defense.
That's .5 TDs and 118 passing yards per game.
Good question. I’d posit that he’s been better than Ah Yat all season, and if he truly has one foot out the door, he’d be pretty motivated to prove it further.

Yeah, CDA, I guess if Fife has " one foot out the door," he had better put on an electrifying performance and not hesitate to improve his prospects !!!

I’ve tried to bite my tongue but I can’t any longer. You have no idea what you are talking about. KAY can ball, throws a better ball than Fife, has better touch, a better deep ball, and a stronger arm. Most importantly, he has it where it counts. There’s a reason he was the opening day starter and the coaches see it. He is young and has been injured (twice) but stop saying he can’t throw without backing it up with some actual evidence to support your opinion.
I mean, it makes sense to me. If he mails it in, it probably wouldn’t help.
Fife has played well for large portions of the season. Ah Yat still has higher upside . Fife's last 12 months have been interesting. He was starting a couple games last year at Fresno and then struggled and was pulled in 4th quarter of New Mexico game. He then choose not to travel with team to bowl game and entered portal. Signs with Minnesota and then backs out after a couple weeks when they signed New Hampshire QB. Comes to play for Griz has some solid games and then struggles and gets benched in 2nd half of playoff game. After a sideline blowout with head coach a couple weeks before that. I would say if the pattern holds he is gone. He has played better than Ah Yat this season but not that much better that they have to play him.
Let's be real, everyone. If Fife already has his feet out the door, he's not playing a single snap in any game after this. The very worst thing that could happen to his transfer prospects (especially against an insanely talented defense and skilled DL) is getting hurt. He would already be gone. I don't think that's the case.
That doesn't mean he won't transfer after this season, but if he had already made up his mind, there's 0 chance he plays another snap for our team.

In a bracket game, I suppose it comes down to whether you want to play the “upside guy” (that term being debatable, IMO), or the guy who has played better this season. Either way, I certainly hope we mine the portal at QB this offseason no matter who stays or goes.
Those two second half fumbles last weekend were terrible. Kept them in game. That first half vs Portland St Ah Yat had one terrible interception but he also had 3 terrible drops that were all on 3rd down. Fife played well that 2nd half but hasn’t played well last two weeks.

AhYat should start and play the entire game.

Disagree: Fife played well against #1 MSU when considering the constant pressure he was under, finishing 18/34, 117, O int., 0 TD, though he did lead us to scoring our 11 pts., 1 TD + 2 pt. conversion, 1 FG.When evaluating a player, Rico, I think you have to put the stats in context against who we were playing.
And if you are cointing Ah Yat's drops vs. PSU, you must include Fife's dropped bombs vs. TSU.
I do agree that he deserved to be benched after his two fumbles, but he did leave the game with us in the lead.
