Bobby has cost UM several football players who would have made an impact.
Which HS recruits would care enough to not come to Missoula because of it?Bobby has cost UM several football players who would have made an impact.
I too am curious how this would have had any bearing on a high school kid at the time. I could understand the trickle down effect of the Crews situation particularly at Sentinel to Jones and a few other guys.Which HS recruits would care enough to not come to Missoula because of it?
A list might bring some credibility.Bobby has cost UM several football players who would have made an impact.

I will be eagerly awaiting the discussion from Rob and Ben on this and how the topic of how it affected the 2022 season from their perspective.

I would be very curious on your perspective on that. It seems like something that was kept quiet at virtually all levels. The only stories I heard didn't make a lot of sense.I was there when it was happening. We will be going in depth in the offseason on both Hauck eras. This will be a huge talking point from what I saw. Also one of the ones I’m most reluctant to delve into. But it was impactful for sure
What time stamp is it at?Listen to the podcast.
A poor use of time.Listen to the podcast.
Probably similar to reading posts from Hike.A poor use of time.
Welnel heads the UM NIL group. He puts considerable effort into it. Now that athletic departments can interact with NIL groups, he must interact with the athletic department often. He comes to QB Club. I think he's listed as special sponsor of QB Club. QB Club is mostly about and overseen by the heads coach. If there ever were any issues or hard feelings, they must be gone now. At the time this was being mentioned on egriz, I asked a starting lb about this. My recollection is that he didn't think it was any big deal and really didn't know much about it. I was told by several other people that the issue was never about getting the 37 jersey to Robbie. It sounds like it really was as bad as rumored. Marcus handled that whole situation with a ton of class.
You absolutely are entitled to sharing what you know about this situation from your point of view, but I wonder what exactly good it does as someone who was not directly involved to come out and speak for people who as of right now seem to have moved on. If you want to have the people in question (Welnel, Lewis, etc.) on your pod and have them talk about it, I think that would be a lot more appropriate, IMO.I was there when it was happening. I had also heard it was not about getting the 37 to Robbie from the only person I talked to that was a part of the program at the time. There were ridiculous rumors flying around at that time from people that were just absolutely talking shit without basis.Welnel heads the UM NIL group. He puts considerable effort into it. Who's Kyle? I don't listen to podcasts.Being that I missed a good portion of the pod due to travelling I listened to the parts I wasn't on. Early in the Q&A a discussion about high school recruits and player retention was had. It was a quick comment on challenges with the 2022 season and the pod transcript says "causing discontentment in the locker room because of how the season starter with 37 and seemingly Bobby choosing one player over the continuity of his team," which Kyle shared.
That was it, which is kind of a widely known discussion point at this point. We all saw the fallout from this from Jace Lewis after his Griz career ended. Nothing too earth shattering here. About 2:27 in.
Edit to add - the talk then broadened to actions/decisions of a coach can lead classes of kids or entire programs to stop showing interest in a school Kyle used USC and Mater Dei as an example. Shaun pointed out that for a few years all the studs at Sentinel went to MSU.
You should listen to it. They talk about players currently making an impact at MSU who did not come to UM because of BHs actions.Who's Kyle? I don't listen to podcasts.
